That looks phenomenal! How was the sound quality there?
The sound quality was kinda weird actually. When Lorna shore started it just sounded like a muddy mess. Then on mastadons set, it got better and when it was gojira's turn it was awesome. I took a bunch if video clips and have been thinking of compiling then into a YouTube video.
Wow, Mastodon is playing before Gojira these days? I saw them together a few years ago at a smaller venue in Vegas, and Mastodon was the headliner then.
Really? That's interesting. This was my first time seeing either band. There were a lot of Mastadon fans there though.
I saw them back in the spring and the order was Lorna Shore, Gojira, Mastodon. Odd that they changed it.
They alternated each night on this tour.
I also saw them a couple of weeks ago with Mastodon closing, but I honestly think it would have worked better the other way around. It felt like the crowd used up all of their energy on Gojira and didn't have much left for Mastodon. I saw quite a few people leave early. For what it's worth, I was there mainly to see Mastodon, but Gojira ended up being the highlight for me. They went hard.
Ah, cool, I actually like that as a concept, that way one band foesn't have to feel like the 2nd fiddle.
I was one of those early leaving people haha, I went specifically for Gojira and frankly have never been huge into Mastodon, so when they closed I used it as an opportunity to get ahead of traffic. The pit for Gojira may have also factored in, I could barely move the next day.
Sound quality issues aside, that sounds like an incredible lineup!
Were they playing at Ball Arena? Every time I see a concert there I’m thinking, this should be at Red Rocks.
It was at fiddlers green. I personally preferred fiddlers over red rocks (saw a perfect circle there).
