Jokes aside, why? There literally is no good reason to piss of people that like you and are willing to work with you
It's one of two things:
Bully mentality. "Beating people up means I'm strong."
Kompromat. "Putin said I have to beat people up or he will ruin me, and I know what he has on me."
What’s in it for me, personally? These countries do not directly benefit Trimp, plus one of the many things he campaigned on was isolationism. Apparentlys people fell for that

Oh. I mean that's definitely a Trump Trait but I don't think it's relevant to a conversation about why he's attacking his allies.
