Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Ask your friends why they're so familiar with the proper performance of the nazi salute.

It wasnt really all that exact. Generally at rallies one simply raised their right arm straight out with palm angled down and away. He did that. Twice. You could get away with plausible deniablity in another situation on another day. But it's relevant that he's doing so today.

It's quite common in old photos to see people's hands dipping a bit doing it. Almost making a like cup shape with the hand. Hard to hold your hand aloft like that for long periods of time. Also not uncommon to see hands turned slightly or completely sideways. What doesn't vary is the intent. It is a salute in the traditional sense. The fact he did it facing the flag is by itself more than damning enough. You don't wave at flags, you salute them.

Yeah, i stand corrected on that point. Him doing so first doesn't really change the salute itself.

I'd say 50/50 odds that he tries to claim it was a Bellamy Salute or something.

yes i'm a bit of a troll, but still

Googled it earlier to see, says the heart motion is never involved, that's the American pledge salute

Nobody does the Bellamy salute anymore and I want you think think very hard about why.
