The alignment will be visible for about a month, until mid to late February. The planets’ positions will, however, shift over this time, so their positions on January 21 will not be the same as their positions in late February.

The other night, I spotted Venus and Neptune (I think it was Neptune, I might misremember). Popped Sky Guide on my phone to confirm and found the ISS was flying over. I called out to someone getting out of their car because I love that stuff. Not sure if he understood (language barrier), but he knew I was excited about the traveling light in the sky.

Religious MAGA fucknuts are claiming this is a blessing from their god over Trump's first full day as president, aren't they?

That's depressing. I was excited about astronomy and then this. I'm going to pretend I didn't know about this.

In the Bible, the stars falling from the sky are a sign of the end times. This event is described in multiple books of the Bible, including:

  • Revelation 6:12-14: The stars fall to the earth like unripe figs shaken from a tree by a strong wind
  • Matthew 24:29-31: The stars fall from the sky along with other signs, such as the sun darkening and the moon not giving its light
  • Mark 13:25: The stars fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens are shaken

I didn’t write the thing. Just giving an alternative biblical explanation other than “divine right.”

You all are too uptight.

For fuck's sake... I knew it and seeing it still increases my disappointment with humanity.
