1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

A couple of days ago I bought a pack of 4 veggie burgers, as is my routine. They are convenient and quite tasty but not as cheap as they used to be. So imagine my delight when, on opening it, I found not 4 but 5 veggie burgers inside. The grocery stores have spent years raising all their prices at the expense of us little people. Well, now is my moment, now they really screwed up. Ha! That fifth veggie burger is going to have the delicious taste of revenge.

Edit: They say revenge is a dish best served cold. This turns out not always to be true. If cooking from frozen you need to grill it for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway through.

After 20 years of vegetarianism I so enjoy impossible burger patties and impossible sausage. Biscuits and gravy. Meatloaf. I LOVE mushrooms but I am so happy with this new generation of fake meat.

Beyond Meat burgers have this thing where if they're charred, the charred bits taste AMAZING. I first discovered this when I ordered one from a restaurant and I wanted to know what seasoning they used because it was unique and delicious. Turns out it was just luck from having the burgers charred just a bit.

I suspect, but don’t know, that Impossible Burger tastes better than low-end hamburger at this point. I remember a lot of “off” tasting burger during an impoverished childhood.

I had a non-vegetarian friend try one and she hated it. She doesn’t like hamburger and said it tasted very much like hamburger.

So agree that sliced mushrooms should be sautéed till golden brown in a lake of butter with salt and pepper. Now I want mushrooms!
