Why is Biden getting credit for not vetoing something, when his biggest excuse for everything else is "presidents can't do legislation"?
I just don't understand giving Biden credit for everything, but zero blame for things that don't happen.
Either Biden has no role so we can't blame him, or he has control so he gets credit.
This is just false. Joe Manchin wasn't the one who "wrote it." It is a pared-down (yes, partially by Joe Manchin) version of the Build Back Better plan, which President Biden proposed. Lots of Democratic legislators in the House and Senate and their staffers actually wrote the text of the final bill.
Saying Joe Manchin wrote it is not just wrong, it's egregiously misleading.
Poster usually does that so they can spin their own fucked up narrative. Guy has got me blocked for pointing shit out like that.
LOL yep. I don't know if I have the honor of being blocked yet myself. Though I wouldn't be surprised if I was. They've spent the last year and a half or more trying to paint Biden as the literal devil. For not using some unknown Presidential Power to waive his hand and end the genocide in Gaza. Because there's no way on Earth that Congress. The body that approves and appropriates funding for Aid to foreign countries wouldn't immediately override any such mandate. Or that Netanyahu wouldn't just tell him to go pound sand.
Biden should have pushed back against it more. Not fast-tracking some of the weapons shipments that he did Etc. And while there are many reasons the Democrats lost including running a shit campaign.
Another rather large reason outside of that is the group of people who hyperfocused and hyperbolically attacked Biden. Even as he tried to bring an end to the genocide in gaza. Leaving many goldfish brained voters to think that Donald Trump was the better candidate. Despite being objectively worse. None of these people will consider that they were manipulated and used. Or are even proud that they were used. Justifying it, in that they maintained their ideological purity.
Um how exactly? He has never even admitted anything close to it actually being a genocide.
Biden absolutely should have recognized it as a genocide. And had the US not veto all the United Nations resolutions against it. Just because he didn't recognize that it was a genocide doesn't mean he did nothing. That's just more of the false narrative that helped Donald Trump get elected.
Biden absolutely should have been clear on that. He absolutely should have spoken out more against it. But if you are surprised that America's top Diplomat was diplomatic with a black hole Middle East US Ally. Even overly diplomatic. Well that's on you. We should have never been apart of the theft of Gaza along with Britain and the first place. But that's been long decided. We should have cut ties with Saudi Arabia a decades ago. America falls short on a lot of metrics. Ironically including the metric system. But that doesn't mean we cannot acknowledge when they trying to do the right thing even if it's not the way we want them to.
