Maybe try not being neoliberals and building an economy that rewards honest labor over speculative, insider info laden, increasingly abstract (credit default swaps, stock shorting, etc) GAMBLING, and never at the expense of those that need help the most.

It hasn't been tried in living memory.

But we all know you'll be back in two years promising to protect our beloved ~~society~~ economy.

Corporate enslavement, but with rainbow ribbons. Better than literal murdererous fascists, sure, but that's like saying be content being led by a murderer instead of a cannibal murderer. Fuck being enthusiastic about that choice.

When I vote blue out of harm reduction, and I have like clockwork for 20 years, it has felt like going to a fucking funeral every single cycle, because there's never anyone to vote for, only against as even worse.

The only happy voters only ever seem to be the racists and Christian cultists voting to hurt others as its own end, because they've been too deluded to see the unrepretent capitalist oligarchs are their enemies.

Bold of you to assume there will be another election in two years.

[–] Allonzee 26 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I'm extremely confident there will be an "election" in two years.

Whether with or without quotes is what remains to be seen.

Oh we'll have elections. They'll just have that "Russia" flavor to them. The kind of elections where you don't really need to have them.

All that is because the US has a first past the post and winner takes all system

In, for example, the Netherlands there is no president. There are like 20 different political parties that have to work together to rule. People can and do actually vote for the person they want. Its not perfect by no means but it made Dutch far right still be at the same level of leftist Americans, and everything is much more relaxed, much less extremes
