Republican vice-presidential candidate Senator JD Vance continues to stoke outrage against foreign-born members of his own constituency, sharing video footage with his 1.9 million social media followers that he claimed showed African migrants in Dayton, Ohio “eating cats” — but instead appears to show nothing more than poultry cooking on an outdoor grill.

“Kamala Harris and her media apparatchiks should be ashamed of themselves,” Vance posted Saturday on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter. “Another ‘debunked’ story that turned out to have merit.”

Vance has claimed, falsely, in recent days that Haitians — who are not Africans — living in Springfield — a town of 58,000 which is not Dayton — were stealing, killing, and consuming their neighbors’ pets.

Then why are you arguing that it's a distraction?

Either it's definitely a distraction or we have no idea what they actually think. You can't have it both ways.

[–] twistypencil 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

So we agree that we have no idea. If so, then I can have my theory, and you can have yours, and neither of us knows which is right, and then you can stop trying to assert mine is wrong and I will just put my theory out there and you can put yours out there.

[–] FlyingSquid 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Oh, now it's just a theory that it was a distraction. You did not make that clear. In fact, you stated it as if it were fact many times.

Also, my "theory" is that they are being very racist. Which I have stated multiple times. Are you saying I'm wrong and they're not being racist?

[–] twistypencil 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm more interested in pointing out that your argumentation is not constructive, when it could be...and as a result I'm not interested in spending the time responding to such argumentatio, you may be right, but you sure don't make me want to listen and consider your view point objectively when it's wrapped the way you are doing it.

[–] FlyingSquid 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Funny, you've spent a whole lot if time on it so far.

[–] twistypencil 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Not really, but thanks for thinking of me

[–] FlyingSquid 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yes really. We've literally been talking in this thread on this subject for days. This was posted four days ago. And you're still talking to me. Seems like you have plenty of time to me. And it's weird that you would lie about something that is such an obvious lie.

[–] twistypencil 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

My replies take seconds, not sure who is weird here

[–] FlyingSquid 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Your words:

I’m not interested in spending the time responding to such argumentatio

You keep responding. "Seconds" = spending the time.

It was a silly lie. Just like the silly lie you made elsewhere in this thread that the media wasn't calling this out as racism. Then I showed you proof that it was and you never responded again.

Clearly you're not very good at lying, so maybe stop doing it.

I suppose that's one way to pretend you didn't lie about not spending time on this...

[–] FlyingSquid 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Cool. I'm glad you agree with me that you're pretending you didn't lie. I think we're done, having reached that consensus.

[–] FlyingSquid 1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Sorry, too late. You already agreed with me that you were pretending you didn't lie.

Toodles.
