Funny how Sovvies want us to accept their coupons but only want to be paid in gold themselves.

Wouldn't that be fantastic. Make up my own mumbo jumbo Sovcit food stamps and then use them to buy their stuff.

They either have to admit it's bollocks or accept the stamps and effectively give me their stuff for nothing.

Walk up to the counter with a 1099a and be like "here you go bud, it's all there in the strawman account. Later." and then walk out with what you took.

Ah, but you see, they're not a corporation, therefore they can't access the mumbo jumbo account.

But surely my straw man can pay his straw man and then he can draw on it when needed?

I doubt very much a Sovvie could manage to run a garage sale, much less an actual business.

[–] TexasDrunk 7 points 4 months ago (2 children)

You'd be shocked. There's a "garage sale" down from where I grew up that's been going on since the 80s and is run by one of those folks. He only takes cash (hell, he might take gold too for all I know).

It's literally like a single booth flea market and that guy hasn't had another job in years.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Huh. I wonder if I should do something like. Just a year round garage sale.

[–] acetanilide 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Fascinating. That's illegal in my town. Or whatever it is when you break a city ordinance.

[–] TexasDrunk 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

He's not really "in town". But he's definitely breaking tax laws. I would bet anything in the world that he's in one of these groups telling people he hasn't paid taxes in the last 40 years and if others are paying then they're suckers.

Gotcha. I do wonder with these folks about property taxes. And sales tax I suppose but the not paying the property tax would get them run out of their house...
