It's like a cosmic joke that there are people out there who consider talking about trump on any level "politics" that should be avoided because, well, it's just a matter of political opinion. Absolutely bare minimum human decency became "politics". Thereby making trump completely immune to most criticism, as far as people like that go.
It's truly sad and fucked as hell.
His supporters are afraid. I think, luckily for us, since the fear is based on social issues instead of financial, it won't work for him the way it did for Hitler. But my point is that people who are scared don't think straight, pretty much in general and dumb people who are scared act on that fear making it everyone else's problem. That's what we're dealing with, the actions of a lot of dumb and scared people being influenced by a few evil people.
People have literally always been afraid though. What changed was the level of discourse was allowed to be in the gutter. Then the bOtH siDeS-ers erase the very pronounced differences in the parties and this causes more people to tune out. In reality I'm guessing we probably went from like 30% of adults being somewhat informed about political issues to like 10%.
I just hope the few factors we have in our favor win the day in November.
I don't think white people who are proud of their race have ever been more scared of being a minority. Obama being president enraged and scared them, Trump let them feel like those feelings were justified and perfectly acceptable. You are right though, I hope it works out in our favor too
Yeah, that's a fair point.
