I do enjoy stories about magic. The problem is that Harry Potter is so tightly wound into her own politics as a story that you can't separate the two. To add to that, buying Harry Potter related stuff directly funds anti-trans organization and she's gone on record stating that.
I do wish she'd get off the batshit crazy hate bus. She's just plain wrong, and I can agree to not supporting that, but having grown up with Harry Potter books being one of my favorite fictional escapes it hurts losing that piece of nostalgic delight that I used as an escape from an abusive childhood to a hate mongering transphobe.
Ok, you are making it abundantly clear that you are ok with JK dictating your purchasing permissions. Maybe that works for you, but I'd never give a jerk that kind of power over me.
My purchasing decision is to boycott anything that funds people who want to kill me and I'm perfectly okay with adding more people to the list.
I didn't realize JK has talked about killing people. Can you point me to your source for that?
How does a pick-up line on a dating app give money to an organization?
We've got 10 downvotes and no replies. That's called cowardice and hypocrisy. Don't blame me for your feelings of inadequacy in regard to boycotts. Stand up for your decision or don't shame others for being different.
What's your point? Driving people into suicide by denying them medical interventions proven to lower the dramatically high suicide rates isn't technically killing?
So, you don't have a source, is that correct?

I've asked for a source and no one is able to provide one. Where is JK denying people medical interventions?
Are you seriously trying to claim that she isn't working on making these medical interventions less accessible? How can you claim that after so many years of her activism, especially in the context of changes in law that did make these medical interventions less accessible?
And don't act like you've really asked for a source. You've been arguing in bad faith by JAQing off and taking people literally when you perfectly understood what they meant, which is why I won't engage in serious discussion with you. You are a troll - if you wanted a serious interaction, you should have started by acting seriously yourself.
Lmfao, if you feel ashamed of your actions, that's not our problem.

"No u" lol ok
Us: *doesn't give money to people that fund lobbyists who'd rather me die*

This is where one takes sail to the seven seas...
You know, I had a solid thirty seconds where I was trying to make an allusion to nazis and giving them power when you invade Germany to stop them... but your whole train of logic is just so far off the rails that I can't logically make it work. Like... do you guys have focus groups on this shit to come up with the most outlandish takes possible?
You're asking the person who doesn't let a nutter dictate which purchases are allowed.
No need to allude to other cultures. Just us, our purchases, and one TERF. Some of us allow the hot air from the TERF to dictate how we may use our money, and others of us will buy a product we've determined to be worth it, regardless of what tiny fraction of the proceeds go to one asshole rather than another asshole (hint: most if not all corporations have some percentage of assholes who profit from sales).
No need to make it complicated. Buy the things you deem to be worth it.
She's already a billionaire. She won't notice a few bucks less if you shape your identity around not buying Hogwarts Legacy.
If anything came from a focus group, it was the decision to shame LGBTQ+s who abstained from the boycott.
