This is actually pretty clever. If he's found guilty then it's rigged since even Mother Teresa would have been found guilty. If he's found not guilty though, then he's even better than Mother Teresa, since he beat a rap that would have taken her down or whatever.
He's not clever. He's a gigantic fucking moron. Don't give him more credit than he's due.
I don't know anything about Trumps childhood, but it feels like he was raised by fairly cold, taciturn, sociopaths. I wonder if his whole childhood was just a masterclass in tantrums and getting a reaction out of people. Would explain a lot about his stengths and weaknesses.

I would argue the quote is too soft. There's no guarantee one will merely almost lose it.
He's not clever though.
He's brazenly stupid. He never thinks things through and is incredibly easy to read and manipulate. He has almost no self control.
He's dangerous, but not because of anything that could be confused for cleverness.
It's possible for a stupid person to do or say something clever, though. You have to fight the battles that are actually before you, not simply imagine that they're already won because you think your opponent is dumb.
He’s a conman. A grifter. This is how they talk.
This is what he does with everything. He set up Afghanistan pullout timing it at the end of his term. Success? It was all him. Failure? It was all Biden.
My thoughts exactly. This kind of abusive manipulation is always pretty transparent.
