Rich Text? (self.wefwef)
submitted 1 year ago by Tygr to c/wefwef

Does lemmy or the fediverse support rich text like bold, italics, anchored hyperlinks, heading tags, etc.?

This has been the only primary feature I’m missing when compared to Apollo.

I notice today when I started scrolling past posts made in https://lemmy.world/c/publicfreakout that the videos auto played in the feed. No need to click a link or open the thread. Pretty interesting and feels alot more like apollo then anything else out there. None of the other apps Ive tried does this including Thunder, liftoff, Memmy, or the lemmy.world PWA

I have a language set in my profile, but it's rejecting comments saying to select a language in my profile. Has anyone encountered that or been able to fix it?

Are you set up for donations?

Updated this morning, and now I am unable to save images without opening them in an external browser like Safari or Firefox. This is how the app functioned originally, but at some point yesterday there was an update that fixed it until this mornings seemingly broke it again.

I would love to be able to browse the communities of instances

I don’t enjoy providing sensitive feedback like this, but it needs to be said — the current app icon is hurting the success of this great Lemmy web app as evidenced by my ability to keep it posted on my homescreen for any longer.

I re-installed the web app to get the new icon, but now it is installing as a Chrome home screen shortcut rather than a standalone app I can see in app drawer. Is this an unintended change from wefwef?

The update also messed with the status bar color (no longer matching the app).

Unless I’m missing it…this would be nice to have in the app

Is there a way to block communities? How?

Stats not updating (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago by mysoulishome to c/wefwef

I believe these numbers were correct previously at least as far as posts and comments I had done using wefwef… I deleted and re-installed wefwef to my Home Screen today and now the numbers are wrong and no longer updating.

Is this broken? Is wefwef able to keep track of all posts and comments or just when done through the app? I know lemmy doesn’t care about ubdoots but seeing my contributions to the feddiverse is cool.

I don't believe there's a way to do this in wefwef yet, but is there a plan to add a way to create a post without having to first browse to the Community you want to create the post on?

So this is probably just me being old and stuck in muscle memory, but maybe it's worth fixing at some point. I use the compact view, so when a picture catches my interest I click it to blow it up. With the image enlarged to cover my screen, and anything not covered by the image filtered to be dark, pressing the back button doesn't close the image, it immediately exits the feed and keeps the image open. I know I can scroll the picture away, but pressing back is just the first thing my mind does, and then I lose my place and have to go back into the feed and scroll down trying to find my spot. Not a huge problem in the grand scheme of things and my hands will learn the new defaults, but closing the pictures first seems like an easy fix.

When replying to a comment or post, a modal pops up for you to input text... I wish that the textfield would get focus automatically instead of having to tap or click the textfield first.

Why YSK: It will start working faster if you give it a sec.

This is a bug in iOS Progressive Web Apps. Your scrolling gets locked to an element that is off the screen. Continuing to try to scroll while it’s in this locked state keeps it in the state longer. No interactions for one second will unlock it.

wefwef are tracking the issue here.

There is currently no way that i can find to block a community from within the app.

As titled, would be a great feature to have.

Although I’m not sure if is even in the realm of possibility for pwa.

I’m loving wefwef, but obviously it does not yet have feature parity with the web versions of fediverse instances. For example, if the user wants to block a community or what have you, the user must open a browser and manually navigate to the same location to do so. Saving images, copying text, and other capabilities just aren’t there (yet).

As a workaround, give the user the option to open the current location in a web browser. The user can do whatever they want there without retracing steps to manually find the same location. Then the user can quickly switch back to wefwef to continue use.

Thanks for everything you all are doing with it.

I love the swipe actions on a post. Having those was the biggest reason I used Sync for reddit back when it worked.

That said I never use the 'swipe to comment' action on post, but always the 'hide' action (so I can remember which posts I've already seen). I do often end up triggering the comment action when I meant to hide a post.

Is there a setting where I can change the binding of the actions? I'd love to simply disable the comment one and have all the right-to-left actions set to 'hide'.
