I re-installed the web app to get the new icon, but now it is installing as a Chrome home screen shortcut rather than a standalone app I can see in app drawer. Is this an unintended change from wefwef?

The update also messed with the status bar color (no longer matching the app).

It has always been like that for me...

same, and the icon is a square inside of a circle instead of being masked

Yeah, the icon used to be masked inside the shape prior to the update rather than being a square within a circle

I noticed the same. It looks bad cause it has the Chrome logo in front of the app icon.

Same thing happened to me after reinstalling the app today

Install as an app via Firefox. Or even better, use the Native Alpha Plus app. That's what I do.

What does the native alpha app do better than just installing a website from chrome?

U can sandbox each web app. So they can't communicate with eachother. So basically run multiple versions of the same web app on different accounts. Think app cloner.

Doesn't fill up your default browser history with a bunch of nonsense.

Also installs it as a stand alone app, which is the problem you're having correct?

Oh yeah, and it's open source.

Oh I get it now.

I'm not really having a problem I was just curious about what it does differently.

when I was using it I installed it from the Samsung browser and it worked quite well
