A place for your favorite video game songs, OSTs, and remixes for games of all eras. Also, deep dives into their creation and composition.

Would appreciate composer names in either the title or the post, for recognition of their hard work.

The combination of the Famicon and NES versions of the soundtrack gives a lot of depth and it sounds amazing

David Bowie and Reeves Gabrels wrote and performed 10 original songs for the game. Some of them later ended up on Bowie's album "Hours".

He performs three of them "live" in the game. You can watch those here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-0okqYM5s4

This is the remastered version. In the og game many players didn't get to hear the flute depending on the sound card they used. Imo the flute adds a lot, good to have it baked in now.

Man, what a delightful little game. I guess it's not really "little," being a first-party Sony title and all, but it feels like a breath of fresh air compared to just about every other AAA-published title as of late. Cohesive, intuitive, and fun mechanics, whimsical environments with lots to explore, and not a single microtransaction in sight. Well-deserved Game of the Year.

When I was growing up, there was a website called OCRemix. It had a ton of remixes of video games, and a lot of fantastic ones. I still have old CDs that me and friends went and burned quite a long time ago.

I tried to find some of the songs on the site and it looks like:

  1. At some point, everything went to youtube
  2. Looks like a lot of the links that im seeing are no longer on youtube(?). Im getting a lot of "This video isn't available anymore"

Where are all the old songs? Does anyone know?
