I haven't found much to love this year apart from the hugely entertaining ADG7 from Korea.

I saw Guns and Roses live back in 1993 and what I saw last night made me wonder if I could get a back dated refund.

Anyone else got any tips on good bands I can find on the BBC IPlayer coverage?

Looks like the church is also trying to take a dip in the water on this hot day!

It's day 2 of my 3.5 day stint home alone without supervision.

So far I've left clothes everywhere, traipsed bits of sewing detritus from one end of the house to another, there's ribbon on the bathroom floor and tbh I don't even know why, it's not like I was sewing with ribbon.

I've spent all day in a nightie watching Star Trek*, I've eaten all the sorbet and am eyeing up the mini Twister lollies that I was under strict instructions not to touch. Macaroni cheese sandwiches for tea last night. No regrets.

Why is there a half-knitted jumper on the living room floor? Why not. Might try cutting a load of my hair off later.

And JUST as I write this post, it's just started tipping it down. Maybe the lollies will get a reprieve after all!

What are the most degenerate things you look forward to when you've got the house to yourself? I've got two more days to fill, need ideas.

* why is Captain Kirk telling this young girl how pretty she is. she's like 10, this is creepy af.

BBC

In certain parts of the country 999 calls are not connecting to the relevant emergency services. Some services have started to be restored about 10am

Saturday chat thread.

What's happening today? The sun's out, we're off to the beach. Have a good one, all

Then I went straight back to sleep.

(As for why I'm posting it here, I guess the word "emigrate" just makes me think of the leathery people in strappy tops on A Place in the Sun. 🤷‍♂️)

The terrifying little owl gremlin robot bastards have returned.

I kinda want one for nostalgia's sake.

These dopey summer chafers are in decline so I’m happy to have seen one! I thought it was dead at first but it’s probably only just emerged so especially clumsy. Hopefully it’ll find a mate and it didn’t get eaten straight after I took it outside.

Forces say update that lets button pushes trigger calls is bombarding operators with "silent" calls.

And I mean to actually use with your voice, you may be one of the people who likes "cockwomble" but if you only ever type it out online then that doesn't count!

Doesn't matter how minor or unimpressive.

I won my school sports day sack race in year 5 and I'm still living off that high.

Ducks! (mcr.town)

I noticed the new logo is a duck. Are ducks, then, allowed here?

I was going to add a photo of some ducks but couldn't find any. I just took this photo of baby swans this afternoon though!

I'm sure many of you will have products you only buy when they are cheaper than usual; especially with inflation being what it is. As such, is there a pattern to when supermarkets change which products are on special offer?

Where I used to live in New Zealand, specials would change on Monday at both the big supermarket chains, but it seems to be different here. Can anyone shed some light on it for me?

Wasps!!! - Got a nest in the compost heap right by the back gate. Kids no doubt will find it. Also next to our bee "meadow", so hope can only kill wasps not the bees.
