Come for the Ferrari, stay for the Hoonigan interview. Another channel I love that hasn't been quite the same since Ken Blocked passed, RIP.

When I got my C7 I considered this instead, I still think the C6 is the most "Corvette" looking of the era which is a good thing particularly if you upgrade the exterior lights.

More about film making than cars strictly but, I thought people here would still appreciate it. Has anyone seen this movie?

An Older Everyday Car UK (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 6 months ago by [email protected] to c/cars

Hi guys, I recently took a trip to Italy to see my friend who purchased a 1997 Mercedes about a year ago, which is extremely comfortable and pretty reliable - he swears by it. We got into a chat about advantages, reliability and comfort of the older over newer cars and he got me kinda excited to get into classic motoring. I currently have a 2017 Honda Civic for which I pay a pretty penny every month (its a lease) and my contract runs out in two years. I started looking around for a classic alternative I could maybe get outright cash in hand or with a little help from a financing company. I see a lot of Jaguars XF and X-Type on the streets of UK, I looked them up on autotrader and they can go for anything from about 2k to 10k depending on the milage etc. - still about 5k less than price sticker of my Civic. So here is the question - is it worth looking into? What models/makes I could look into? What should I be aware of? Any tips? Tricks? I’m looking to expand my family in the coming years so a 3 doors sports car are out of the question :) Thanks

Been watching Roadkill’s Junkyard Gold with Steve Magnante and came across this in an episode. Thought it was cool as the guy said he earned more from charging admission than selling parts.

If I won the lottery I wouldn't tell anybody, but there would be signs.

The left door handle has been cracked ever since I got the car so this was coming sooner or later. A year of daily use ain't bad. Still, it came as a shock when, last Wednesday, I grabbed the handle, and the door didn't come open. I'm a big dude (tall and fat), and there wasn't room on the other wall to climb in through the passenger side. Somehow, I passed the acrobatics check it took to climb through the trunk and into the front seat. And I didn't hurt my back at 32 years old. Truly a feat to behold.

I've already bought a handle, but it won't be in til Thursday. I could run around with it like this for a week, but I'm not gonna.

Which means I'll be driving my wife's cargo ship for a few days.

Such a shame. Fuel cell EVs seem like such a good idea according to Toyota, but the reality of living with one seems pretty terrible, not to mention the problems with producing hydrogen cleanly and making it available affordably and conveniently.

You guys might enjoy that, didn't even know any cars would be there lol
Also, it's one of my first car photos so let me know what you think!

It's got 250,000 miles and is $5,500. It's a former taxi service car, apparently. Obviously, a pre-purchase inspection would be a must. I've heard these cars are very reliable, but the mileage, accident history (3, not sure how serious), and potential status of the high voltage battery give me pause. I'm leaning against traveling to look at it, but I'm wondering if the model is just so good it's worth a try at that price point.

It would be replacing a 2015 Kia Soul with about 80,000 miles--Kia's engine woes have me spooked, so I'm considering trying to get something more likely to go for several hundred thousand miles. Any thoughts?

Hey! I was looking for a tow hook GoPro mount for my 2nd generatin Nissan Leaf, but I only found this one, which is made for earlier models.

Does anyone know if the 1st and 2nd generation of leafs have the same tow hook threads?

Although I don't buy/sell as many daily drivers these days these tips are great for taking pics when it is time to let one go.

My first track day, I didn't really believe these tires would get sticky at the track. I was wrong. Quite sticky to the touch.

I'll edit GoPro footage down to a single lap next week sometime and post it. My son and I had an amazing time and met some fantastic people.

Hello! Don’t know if this is the right community to post this question, but maybe you can help.

I want to learn about cars and engines. I’m a pretty mechanical person and I like to tinker. I can do basics, like changing my own oil etc.

I want to do some hands on learning, but I don’t have a ton of money to spend or space to work in. I was wondering if you had suggestions on something small and affordable I can get to learn about engines. I was thinking a lawn mower or a scooter but I don’t know how similar those would be to a car.

Do you have any advice?

Gorgeous car, I'd love an opportunity to ride in one of these someday.

If you own or have driven any of these cars do you agree? Disagree? Think bacon is proof some sort of higher being loves/hates us?
