I'm not a prude but I genuinely had no idea it was that big a thing on Reddit. I thought it all generally disappeared a few years ago. Just shows how huge a site it was I guess
It's that new colony optimism
Tempted to try the aeropress method but every time I try an aeropress 'trick' it ends up with coffee everywhere and mild scalding.
I know you can use glass jars but they're something I would have to get anyway and ideally I would want something portable so I can take it to work.
As others have said, pod machines aren't great for the environment. If you do get one, make sure you know how to recycle them because the sheer volume you will throw away is ridiculous.
That said, pod coffee has its place if you want efficiency. I use my Dolce Gusto on the weekend when I can't be bothered to go to the effort of using my aeropress. The quality is lower but as long as you go into it expecting that it won't be the best thing ever you'll be fine.
I have my aeropress during the week to make my work days a bit better.
Vbulletin boards and general forum sites before the likes of Facebook and Reddit got big. Made a lot of friends on there.
Neopets was great as well. Loved the minigames.
Clueless. It's one of the few films I can actually sit and watch all the way through at home. Witty, campy 90s fun. The fact it's actually an adaptation of Emma by Jane Austen is the icing on the cake.
Good point. I know SEO isn't the be all and end all in a federated world, but if we do want this place to grow we do have to make it easy to find.
Both 'Lemmy' and 'kbin' aren't the most memorable names
I've definitely found myself leaning more towards escapism in fiction than reading nonfiction. After the last few years I've had enough of reality for a bit.
Definitely, but as I live alone anyway I don't see it being a huge issue.
I suppose it depends on whether this is 'stranded on an island alone' or just live in a flat on your own though.
Lemmyverse is a good directory of sorts.
