Maybe that's my secret ... I'm always hungry.

I can't believe I missed a live Daft Punk stream! And it's not recorded on their Twitch. :(

Frank Herbert must be rolling in his grave.

The least believable part of this card is it being valid for 20 years!

I would also reccommend faraday.dev as a way to try out different models locally using either CPU or GPU. I believe they have a build for every desktop OS.

I lost it when they broke the second window right after. It reminds me of the demo Bill Gates did where he got a BSOD.

I agree that this is probably the inevitable end result of the proliferation of the technology. The journey society is going to have to take to get to that point is going to be pretty uncomfortable though I think.

I have the standard Firefox for iOS, and the only security setting I see that might be related is "Enhanced Tracking Protection", which is set to standard. I would assume that should allow basic cookies for persistent login though. I wonder if there's something about Lemmy that is causing it to be detected as some kind of ad tracking thing?

I got a b/w Brother laser and have been using it with Windows, Linux and Android devices with no issues. It has lasted me through 6 years of university and I've only replaced the toner once. Probably the best technology investment I've ever made.

Lemmy.world seems to have a super short lifetime on whatever cookie they're using to persist a user session. I feel like sometimes it logs me out after 24 hours. Could we make this default to something more reasonable, or is there maybe a reason behind the short lifetime?

When a lemmy instance federates, does it connect to one big lemmy network, or can there be multiple disconnected, yet locally federated instances? What I'd like to know is, can I simply join any Lemmy server and choose "All" to view everything Lemmy has to offer, or is there still hidden content?

I understand that some servers are unfederated. I guess I'm curious about the reach of the "All" mode.

I celebrated one year at my new job by buying a watch from my wish list. This Nodus watch has great build quality, and I really like the design sense. I've always liked dials with bold arabic numerals, and I appreciate how they preserved symmetry by placing the day and date at 6 o clock. Build quality is excellent, with finely brushed surfaces, a fluid bracelet, smooth bezel action. The only thing I'd change is maybe having a count-up bezel instead of count-down, but that's not a big deal.

This is was my grandmother's wristwatch she got for her 30th birthday. It was built in 1959, and only has hour and minute complications. The fact that we could build machines this small before computers were invented seriously impresses me.

I wonder if anyone can tell me the brand and model of this kids (I believe automatic) watch I saw the other day? It was brightly colored with a fabric velcro strap, and featured a very unique dial and bezel.

The hours and minutes were both labeled with the numbers centered within the spaces between where the indices normally are, making it very easy to learn how to read analog time. The divisions around the watch look a bit like the Cupola windows on the international space station shown in the uploaded image.

I haven't had much luck googling for it. Ring a bell for anyone?

There's something I've always wondered about mechanical watches with a date. Does advancing the date start you of in the "AM" or does it stay in whichever half of the day AM/PM you were already in? I've been advancing the date by turning the hands to ensure I know which half of the day it's set to, but maybe this isn't necessary? Sorry if my question isn't worded very well.

It only takes a smidge of Oregon soil for plants to thrive here. This blackberry bush has been growing out of the concrete median for months. It finally made berries!

I love the design of this watch, and would love to buy one but can't seem to find this exact model still for sale anywhere. In particular the dial texture and color look great with the bright white hands.

I received a Texas A&M branded Hamilton watch as a present and am looking for info about the age and maybe movement model of the watch. The back side has been ground flat so it has no discernable markings.

Around the engraved logo are the words "AGRICULTURAL AND MECHANICAL COLLEGE OF TEXAS", which was the original name of the university before it changed it in 1963. So I believe it must be at least that old.
