would the "VR rape case" then be sexual harassment?

This whole thing is just really weird. Should the police not investigate because it's not rape? Also rape, according to the Met, can only be done by people with dicks...

This whole thing is a mess

If it has no description then its perfectly fine to post stuff like this.

[–] weeahnn 1 points 11 months ago

yeah, for me the games after Risen 1 were pretty meh for me. But the Gothic series was part of my childhood, with Gothic 1 being my first ever RPG. (probably one of the best games to start with)

[–] weeahnn 2 points 11 months ago

Yep, have played it fully like 3 times.

It's kind amazing how many times I've missed the mark with the stock market.

[–] weeahnn 2 points 11 months ago

haha the GPU I've had before having to RMA it was like this. had about 2mms of space between it and my fans

[–] weeahnn 7 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Yeah, the Gothic series was, and still is one of my favorite game series ever made.

[–] weeahnn 1 points 11 months ago

That is exactly why I'm asking. Years ago I had problems with anger. Luckily going to university helped with that. Don't know how but it helped me.

I would actually love it to be true.

Well except the "Bangladesh genocide of 1971" part. Everything else sounds like a usual Wednesday night.

Why of course the US and Bhutan.

I wanted to yell at her

Was that the first thing that you thought of?

Cities: Skylines II on Steam (store.steampowered.com)
submitted 1 year ago by weeahnn to c/paradoxgames

Well, at this point I think it was kinda expected that it would not get stellar reviews, but holy shit.

Flyby over a medium-sized city with a blazing fast Gaming PC: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (RAM- & Curve-tweaked) plus Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090. With the graphics preset 'High', Cities Skylines 2 puts the system on its knees. The heavy stuttering occurs on ANY PC, while fast CPUs can reduce the spikes from ~500 ms to less (but still high). We're testing 720p, 1440p and 2160p to show the impact on the GPU.

So new system requirements. Not only are the new system requirements really demanding, but they are also really embarrassing. To release a game in a state like this is crazy, but at this point it has become a habit of companies.

Does this community allow posts that are about fantasy maps or is this place just for real maps? Would be a shame to only allow real-life maps.

Let's hope they can make the clans actually fun and different from the feudal govt. types.

Critic Reviews

Attack of the Fanboy - J.R. Waugh - 3.5 / 5

In many ways, Cities Skylines 2 is addictive, but the word 'addictive' should be taken subjectively. The game has good addictive potential, like the runner's high after intense exercise or a delicious cup of coffee. But it also has bad addictive potential, like a narcotic, as you grind through the performance issues because you know it'll get good again soon, and you know your rig can totally handle it, as you promise to your friends.

But Why Tho? - Matt Donahue - 9 / 10

Cities Skylines 2 is a worthy successor to the long standing original city builder

CGMagazine - David Walters - 8 / 10

As far as world-building games go, Cities: Skylines II is second to none. The sheer volume of capability is staggering and the possibilities are endless for what you can create.

Checkpoint Gaming - Omi Koulas - 9 / 10

Cities: Skylines II is a city-building experience of epic proportions, filled with complexity and creativity. Its immense ambition in city design is complemented by an intricate web of services and an intelligent population. It may stumble under the weight of technical performance and a few bugs but the series still continues to redefine urban strategy in games. Colossal Order have truly delivered a living, breathing, dynamic city management game.

Game Informer - Sarah Thwaites - 7.5 / 10

Quantifying the nuance of Cities: Skylines II isn’t easy. As I dig deeper into its complicated systems, more and more exciting features are still coming into focus. The sequel is ambitious and wants players to juggle hundreds of considerations as they build towards Elysium, and it delivers in that aspect. Yet, unfortunately, the game’s consistent technical problems tend to mire that calculated success.

GamesRadar+ - Dustin Bailey - 2 / 5

It's going to take a lot of improvement to get this sim into an acceptable form

God is a Geek - Mick Fraser - 8.5 / 10

While it does struggle under the weight of its own ambition a little, Cities: Skylines II is still a super addictive city sim.

IGN - Leana Hafer - 6 / 10

Cities: Skylines 2 is an ambitious sequel that might have bitten off more than it can chew – be prepared to do a lot of terraforming if you don't want your metropolis to look like a nightmare.

IGN Italy - Stefano Castelli - Italian - 8 / 10

A good sequel which provides a better interface and lots of freedom for building your own cities. Too bad the game lacks in modes and optimization.

LadiesGamers.com - Paula Moore - Loved

Cities: Skylines II has much to life up to, and you. know what? This is a fantastic start to a fabulous game. I’m excited for the future of city building. The game will take off once the modders get to work and Colossal Order pushes out the usual updates.

If you buy Cities: Skylines II, you can expect unfamiliarity, familiarity, surprises and the occasional frustration. But once you settle into it, plenty of new gameplay mechanics will keep you on your toes.

I love it, and I can see that Colossal Order love their game, too. I predict Cities: Skylines II will be even more successful than it’s predecessor.

Noisy Pixel - Colin Buchanan - 9 / 10

Despite its few peculiarities and performance issues, Cities: Skylines II successfully upholds the legacy of its predecessor and raises the bar for the city-building genre. Whether you’re a seasoned city planner or a newcomer ready to embark on an urban adventure, Skylines II offers endless possibilities and countless hours of creative enjoyment.

PC Gamer - Christopher Livingston - 77 / 100

The city builder sequel is packed with big improvements but a fair share of disappointments.

PCGamesN - Edward Smith - 7 / 10

Intricate, intuitive, and ambitious, Cities Skylines 2 successfully integrates all the major improvements that players might have wanted. Something personal is lost in its larger scale, while performance problems spoil the beauty, but this could one day become the superior city building game.

Polygon - Cameron Kunzelman - Unscored

Skylines 2 appears to be the distinct result of a dev team looking out at other places to find beauty and, more importantly, designing with an aim toward getting players interested in thinking of themselves as people making aesthetic choices. It’s thrilling.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Sin Vega - Unscored

An engaging zone-based city builder that balances simulation with ease of play, but offers little that feels substantially new or improved enough to warrant a sequel.

Saving Content - Scott Ellison II - 5 / 5

Colossal Order offers an intricate deep simulation of a city builder. Aside from the taxing performance, it’s simply amazing to see in motion. For the price, you get a metropolis-sized game full of options. It’s also one of those things where I can’t wait to see what this game is like eight years from now. Cities: Skylines II offers the next-generation of the city builder that constantly impressed and amazed.

VG247 - Alex Donaldson - 4 / 5

This is an excellent sequel, and an exciting foundation for what I’m sure will be a bright, addition-packed future.

VideoGamer - Antony Terence - 8 / 10

Cities Skylines 2 is a well-loved home that picks smart renovation over a sweeping revolution. With incredible visuals and immaculate detailing, few cities can eclipse this colossal effort in terms of sheer freedom and choice.

Hey all! I've been thinking about this, and it seems that others would also like a way to be able to make money. Right now, at least to my knowledge, the only way to make money is by playing, which feels like a really passive method.

I think that adding some form of shop plugin could help this. Having a shop plugin that would enable players to create chest shops where you could sell, and others could buy would be a wonderful addition.

This would:

  • Keep the same rate of income for the whole server. ie. No extra money would enter the economy

  • Be a more active way to earn money since you could put up shop and sell stuff

  • Give players another way to spend their money

  • I think that it would also benefit people who can't play as much, but still want to build cool stuff. for example, if they had a shop that they set up, then they could make money even if they were away for days. They wouldn't have to be on the server to get more money.

Of course, this is just my opinion, so I would like to hear the server's. Do you agree, disagree or maybe you think another way would be better?

I never really cared much about Threadripper, since I don't really have a use case for them, but I would like to know what's the general opinion about this release.

MORE MODS FOR EVERYONE

We know you have been waiting, and now it's time to share the latest developments regarding modding in Cities: Skylines II.

First and foremost, our in-game editor is currently in its beta phase and will launch shortly after release. While we look forward to unleashing the power of creative modification to all of you, in preparation, we are collaborating with a talented group of creators working behind the scenes - ensuring you'll have amazing mods to dive into on its launch.

While the modding tool will have a basic framework at its inception, we are dedicated to its continuous expansion and enhancement, making it a central focus of our development efforts moving forward. More in-depth details about the editor and its roadmap ahead will be shared shortly - keep an eye out for our dev diaries.

Secondly, we're introducing Paradox Mods as the new mods platform for Cities: Skylines II. One of the core reasons for this is its inclusivity; modding capabilities will be extended to players across platforms - both PC and console - aligning with our commitment to provide as many as possible with the opportunity to modify and enjoy the game.

For console users, this means you will be able to access Asset Mods in the library. Yes, you read that right! We know it is a huge part of the Cities: Skylines experience and we're beyond excited to introduce a solution that makes mods available to everyone. As with all major updates, we are fully aware of the learning curve it might present, but we're committed to providing resources to ensure a smooth transition to Paradox Mods.

A NOTE ON PERFORMANCE AND OUR COMMITMENT TO PLAYERS

On another note, we've noticed the concerns raised about Cities: Skylines II performance, especially after our previous statement with raised minimum and recommended specs. As we've always believed in transparency, we'd like to further shed some light on the current state of the build.

Cities: Skylines II is a next-gen title, and naturally, it demands certain hardware requirements. With that said, while our team has worked tirelessly to deliver the best experience possible, we have not achieved the benchmark we targeted.

In light of this, we still think for the long-term of the project, releasing now is the best way forward. We are proud of the unique gameplay and features in Cities: Skylines II, and we genuinely believe that it offers a great experience that you will enjoy.

We will continually improve the game over the coming months, but we also want to manage expectations on performance for the coming release. Our ambition is for Cities: Skylines II to be enjoyed by as many players as possible, and we're committed to ensuring it reaches its full potential.

Thanks for your understanding and continuous support. We're lucky to have a community as passionate and dedicated as you.

Hey all!

I'm on the search for mods for any of the Gothic games. Mostly interested in overhauls or total conversions, but any mod is welcome. I've already played Othello for Gothic 1 and L'Hiver for Gothic 2. Do you have any recommendations?
