Sata cables? There aren’t sata cables in MacBooks and haven’t been for like a decade.
That’s just Uber and lyft
Pretty sure Microsoft patented that idea for use with the Kinect in the Xbox one
RCA? They still make TV’s with RCA inputs on them? It’s been a while since I bought one. Thought my 10yo Sony was one of the last ones.
I work for a touch screen company that makes these “large format displays”. The main reason you might not want to do this is that they are designed to prioritize longevity and functional delivery of information over image quality and usability. They’re not good for games or making movies look good. They work, and will be more durable, but a consumer tv will look better and have more options for changing the image. Also if you play video games the latency isn’t great.
The usefulness of gravity is also purely accidental
I get your point, but disagree with your thesis. Fahrenheit makes a lot of sense for human comfort ranges. 0 and 100 are some of the most extreme natural temperatures most people in F-using countries ever see. 0 means cold as fuck and 100 means hot as fuck. And there’s a single-digit useful precision to it as well. 72 and 73 are close, but noticeably different. Celsius requires decimals for that kind of difference. And 0 means “it’s kinda cold outside, I guess” and 100 means “you were dead a long time ago”, so it’s not nearly as useful in every day life with natural living temperatures.
NET NEUTRALITY NOW
As an Oregonian, i was wondering the same thing: we don’t have sales tax. So the item on the menu costs the same as it does on the bill, but i travel out of state enough to know better than assuming getting rid of tip means there’s no more surprises on the bill.
I’ve got a weird and kind of opposite experience to your GF’s coworker: I started my current job as a remote employee this year. I think the median wage in my area is like 50k, but I’m making more than twice that because of my role’s market rate in areas like Silicon Valley and NYC. So I’m living relatively large considering my area. But I’m also not actually living large right now; we went for a 15 year mortgage term to minimize interest and allow us to actually live it large when we own our home at a relatively young age. It’s definitely weird to know I’m making baller wages compared to a lot of folks around me, but living within similar constraints as them.
If other cops can see it, and are choosing not to share that information, it really just proves ACAB.
Your downvote count is insane, because you’re right. People on lemmy, just like on reddit, use android and like to feel superior for hating on Apple. That’s basically all it comes down to. Apple introduced a new connector a decade ago, called their shot, and usb-c caught up during that time. Now that Apple is fulfilling their plans everyone who was never going to buy an iPhone anyway is shouting “what took you so long?”
