Honestly it was a coin flip at the time between Jellyfin and Emby.

I liked how I could change the media folder icons to my own custom ones and that was enough to experiment with Emby.

Did the usual spouse test, nobody really noticed a difference so stuck with it.

Hetzner storage boxes are also incredibly inexpensive, you can mount them on a smaller VPS in another datacenter (Scaleway for example) and still run Plex if you really need to.

I just switched to Emby with zero regrets

I was thinking about this when shopping last week. Went to lift 6 eggs, Saw they were like £2 and thought “clearly just an American thing at the minute”

I still come across DCs where time drift happens because of poorly configured VMs

Last time I saw 30spf it was written on a sun cream

In our company I’m friends with one of the lead devs. He once told me “no matter what way you look at it, excel is never the answer” lol I’m sure he was a bit biased, but I’ve seen my fair share of macro-ridden abominations over the years

And now for something completely different…

Some real out of the box thinking on the topic!

I pushed the drill a little too hard from the other side. Didn’t realise the damage I’d done until I came around the other side to my wife shouting and screaming. ¯\(ツ)

When I update the app via the settings menu, sometimes (not all times) it’ll create two additional Home Screen icons. One named Voyager and another named vLemmy.

I have previously had the app on my Home Screen with both these names. I’m guessing it’s weird legacy config from previous installs.

How exactly does the update feature work? Why, if it’s a web app, do I need to update at all? Doesn’t it just auto update when you load the app?

What is this witchcraft?
