Oh I suffer from that daily. Yeah it's very annoying.

[–] spiritsong 1 points 2 weeks ago

LOL, I know, right. It's just downright dyatopian

Not if you have control over the hardware and firmware. But I suppose open sourced versions will happen one way or another.

Somebody better tell Sony about this. I'm sure they want to cash in from their patent being infringed.

:p /s

The dreaded future of advertising is here. Next step, in your face as you do your daily stuffs.

And everybody's like "Yesterday we drank too much, let's do it again!"

I found German metal and folk metal this way, and loved it ever since. Especially Mongolian folk metal.

BTW Electric Callboi is awesome. Yes, I know they aren't pure metal, but hey, I like some fun, alright? (and they can poke fun at themselves)

Yeah I read the entire Wikipedia entry on the Byford Dolphin and I almost threw up because how vivid the description is. I think this would be my third time saying this but that's not a nice way to go (to die) at all.

Yeah I read about it. Definitely not the nicest way to go.

This one became real dark when the Russians shot the Azerbaijani flight. This video was released days before that tragedy, no?

Wouldn't this human in theory become a crumpled sausage like what happened to the crab by the leaking underwater pipe?

[–] spiritsong 8 points 1 month ago

If that one advert is to believed, even Santa Claus got shot down flying over Russian space.

And that was days before this needless tragedy.

Basically no find, no fee. And it's up to OceanInfinity to be able to actually find the wreckage before they lose 70 million down the ocean.

The other thing that isn't mentioned is the salvage rights. Local Malaysian newspapers have not even mentioned anything too.

Some people like Google Camera. Some people don't. Some people swear by Google camera, some people can live without it.

Over somewhere, there were people that kept asking "how do I have Google Camera on my Xiaomi 13T / Xiaomi 13T Pro", so I guess here's what it is. Basically I'm writing in a more roundabout way, so that you understand the concept rather than giving you straight to the answer (if you want that, just look for the BigKaka link below, its fine).

For the phone, or any other phone, to understand what Google Camera functions that is supported, one needs to install "Camera2Probe" which you can get from your favourite APK store (Google Playstore, etc etc)

After that, just install, run it, and what you really want to hope for is to look for "hardware support level" and pray it is at least "level 3". If I'm not mistaken "Full" would be better.

Now knowing that, now you'll need to go to the google camera repository at https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/

and then navigate to:

https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/configs-bigkaka-07/ Browse to the 13T or the 13T Pro, download both the apk and the config (apply them) and you will have at least, in theory, the best gcam setup for your Xiaomi 13T/13T Pro.

As for why all the trouble? That is because the GCams listed here are just ports. Why are they ports? Here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/versions/

Do you have a need for using GCam? I don't know. I like it, but I find myself just whipping out the phone, use the built in camera module and then snap away. But it doesn't mean you won't use it, and I'm sure there are many people who like the phone (because the cameras are good) and want to use GCam along with it.

Have fun!

Hi.

I'm just going to ask here. Not so recently (about nearly a month now, technically this is my third weekend) I received my long awaited on hold 13" Touchbar Macbook Pro M2.

So, let me preface this, I (think) I'm an iPad Pro power user, but I have zero knowledge on Mac OS. I've been playing around to get loads done (and it does get loads done), what are some of the apps that you good fellows would use in your Macs?

I'm trying to get inspiration. Initially I didn't install anything, then I over-installed got got chastised by a good friend as "I'm turning my mac into windows" and then I dialed the dialer back.

For now, I think I have -bash (because it was required for something, even though I know nothing) -lots of python (because the apps require it to run -BetterTouchTool (I'm using goldenchaos config as a base, still learning) -Raycast (I find it... amusing. I'm still trying to marry the functions of Raycast and BetterTouchTool)

Of course there are other apps, but I'll like to hear what Mac users of the Fediverse use. I've seen a lot of apps get mentioned, but some I think are very old, so I'm not sure how they hold up in 2024.

Thanks for responding!

(yes I'm just trying my luck, but who knows if anyone can/will respond?)

Hi. Today I found out something interesting. Apparently Lemmy is more European centric, compared to Reddit which is more US centric.

Without diverging too much, I'm from South East Asia.

How about everyone else?
