Yeah, I was just too lazy to edit these together, might try later. What is the exact name of the backpack?

Edit: somebody already got inspired to do it https://programming.dev/post/22510486

Steal his look!

I’m jealous if you haven’t seen it, amazing experience, I really recommend you check it out.

My wife hates action movies but loves this one, always cries at the end. Very deep exploration of some (flawed) characters and sad life stories, for both policemen and criminals - the realistic action scenes and 90s LA are just the cool backdrop.

Yes, absolutely mind blowing movie and scene, especially if you have a chance to catch it on the big screen.

The reason for the great sound (if I remember correctly) is the use of blanks, instead of lazy post-editing visuals and sound effects (like in most movies). And also the depth of characters, the acting and the cinematography all come together into this amazing film.

Ok, so this might be controversial, but in these situations I definitely think the people that drove him to this situation should be investigated (and if needed, held accountable) by the police.

We put this enormous personal responsibility on everybody, that they should be able to manage anything that life throws at them, and give a free pass to bullies to hurt and destroy others, instead of realizing some people have more fragile souls and less resilience. We don’t need to turn our lives upside down to protect them, but at least we could make sure you can’t go around hurting them without repercussions.

If we want to treat mental health as seriously as physical health, then why is this accepted? A seemingly big hearted person, driven to suicide by the organizational politics of a few more savvy individuals. How is this any different, then the strong taking something from the weak, or pushing them off a cliff?

There is no approval needed:

  • up to 2 days continously: I say I am sick, I am put on sick leave. I had to do this already the 3rd time this year (thx German weather)
  • from the 3rd day, I need to bring a paper from the doc. If the doc says I’m sick, I’m kept on sick leave as long as the doc requested
  • vacation days are independent from sick days: I get 30 paid vacation days, so 6 weeks

Yes, but please be aware that sick leave here is nearly unlimited, and you get your full salary (for several months), so of course there needs to be some control on it.

Exactly. If they weren’t manufacturing and selling plastic trash, people wouldn’t buy it. I try to limit my plastic use, and recycle what I use, but that is not enough.

Single use plastics should be banned fully, coke and other companies could sell their stuff in glass or harder, reusable plastic.

This is what I also realized with work. It’s better to rest and recover in 2-3 days, then struggle for 4-5 or more (even from home office). Luckily, at my workplace in Germany, you can take 2 days of sick leave without any doctor’s note.

I was debating if I want to buy one, but after trying that remote play worked well with a tablet on my home wifi, I took a leap of faith and ordered one of the last ones nearby. Picked it up yesterday.

Key points:

-Very satisfied with the performance so far, no noticable lag on home wifi. Finished Spider-Man 2 and beat the final boss on it, also tried some shooters, no issues with lag in single player games on my 500 Mbit network (meaning: maybe a partial second of stutter every 5-10 mins).

-So much smoother experience than using e.g. my tablet with a controller. Just pick it up, press 2 buttons, and you can play in a few seconds.

-The screen is also better than expected. 8 inches is super big for a handheld, around the size of the iPad mini. Very immersive, when playing. Colors are also great, and I’m saying that as an owner of an LG OLED TV. Of course an OLED screen would have been probably better, but also more expensive, and the resolution is still better than most handhelds giving us a great picture.

-The controller grips are very comfortable for even a longer session. The haptic feedback and trigger resistance feels just like the controller we are used to.

-The missing BT is annoying if you have a good headset (I don’t), but I understand the concerns with delay, though I have no personal experience on that.

-The only time connection became bad, is when downloading a game/update on my PS5 while playing, it even completely dropped once. Very annoying if you want to run an update in the background, but also not a dealbreaker, you can just run updates in rest mode.

-The price is fine, payed 219 EUR for it. I would like it a bit lower, but still okay with it (understanding the privilege that I can waste this money on something that is far from a necessity). I would not want to pay the price of a “proper” handheld for a controller with a screen.

I stopped using reddit when Apollo went down, and 2-3 hours of scrolling and active posting in some niche subs turned into ~30 mins of Lemmy per day, which I find much more healthy.

I didn’t start doing yoga, painting, or a side business, just feel much better having cut back the last big pillar of my social media addiction.

So thanks Steve!

(If it’s not too much to ask, please take a look at how you could improve instagram, you could save another 15 minute of my day)
