the judge has decided to deny the FTC’s preliminary injunction request. In a ruling submitted today, Judge Corley said the following:

"Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision has been described as the largest in tech history. It deserves scrutiny. That scrutiny has paid off: Microsoft has committed in writing, in public, and in court to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for 10 years on parity with Xbox. It made an agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to Switch. And it entered several agreements to for the first time bring Activision’s content to several cloud gaming services. This Court’s responsibility in this case is narrow. It is to decide if, notwithstanding these current circumstances, the merger should be halted—perhaps even terminated—pending resolution of the FTC administrative action. For the reasons explained, the Court finds the FTC has not shown a likelihood it will prevail on its claim this particular vertical merger in this specific industry may substantially lessen competition. To the contrary, the record evidence points to more consumer access to Call of Duty and other Activision content. The motion for a preliminary injunction is therefore DENIED."

Linus reviews the new Mac Studio lineup. To nobody's surprise, it's overpriced and has borderline illegally misleading marketing.

Here's hoping they migrate to wiki.gg as Terraria's contributors have a while ago.

Mods are awake, post Lemmings

Really good track today. The drift before the grass section is key, it either makes or breaks the run. A fast exit time could save like 3 seconds compared to turning slowly.

Good point, I can see how something like this could cause some shock especially in political posts. Having it be opt-in and choosing the communities to connect with would definitely be great.

Awesome to see the devs so active and the game so stable. I've been having a lot of fun playing with friends. I will say that it's a bit annoying that you have to grind to get to the good weapons. Snipers especially only start being good at level 65, which is a big time commitment. I'm getting close after playing about 40 hours.

Yeah I like the man but I don't know if he can play the fearless inspiring leader type.

Federating in the meantime is not.

Dude, Threads isn't federating with anything right now. That's the point, we're not federated so there's no reason to make a decision on something that won't happen yet.

I've made many comments saying why we should defederate with Threads but I still agree with the admins that there's no point in doing a knee-jerk reaction on a threat that

A) won't happen until at least a few months later

B) likely won't federate with Lemmy anyways

C) isn't actually a threat to Lemmy, but could pose a threat to microblogging websites like Mastodon

So yeah, waiting and seeing isn't stupid.

Dumb take. Lemmy.world devs simply said it's not likely Threads will federate with Lemmy anytime soon anyways, and they'll make a decision when there is actually a decision to be made.

I had no issues upgrading to 4.1, not sure why it doesn't work for you. Try upgrading to 4.1 on another device if you have one and upload to git, otherwise wait for the next hotfix and hope they fixed it.

Also would be great if you can create an issue on github in case this isn't a known issue

Season 2 comes out September 1 this year

They did market it, but it just didn't resonate with everybody and looked like a rehash of every other Pixar movie on first glance. Normally I'd see it anyways but Pixar has dropped the ball many times that I'm not very interested in what they put out recently.

Still patiently waiting for the PC port, but I am a bit weary at how much it lacks RPG features from everything I've heard. Even Final Fantasy 7 Remake had a lot of build variety and a few different weapons.
