We've been figured out. And there are too many issues right now to focus on fixing them.

I never understand this. Most of the time when I see this it's a low-throughput business like a pawn shop trying to entice people to come inside. But why would I get any closer to your loud-as-fuck speaker that you've propped the door open with blaring shitty trap music?

So either you really dont get how things work, or you’re kind of racist/xenophobic.

It's both. It's always both. People are afraid and angry and hungry, and that brings fascism like flies to shit. I really don't want to believe that people were always this hateful, and that it's mostly because times are tough for everyone. Doesn't help that you have Fox News and their cronies whipping everyone into a frenzy about every little thing.

Oh well. Now we'll see them put their plan into action and hope that they somehow self-implode before they do too much damage.

It's really easy to convince people that "different" is worse, it seems.

I'd support a threat of secession.

That scares me more, honestly. The police riding around in a malfunctioning APC....

Good thing we spent the last 25 years giving the police surplus military equipment.

I'm not blaming it on cabin fever or anything like that. I think people are just angry.

Some don't care, and some don't have the energy to. This is by design.

[–] sensiblepuffin 1 points 2 weeks ago

Exactly. It doesn't really matter who the candidate is - for a lot of people the cycle is to just elect someone from the other party every 8 years because the economy isn't fixed.

"Longstanding policy" = what we did the last time this fucker was elected. There is no precedent for this, and the entire judicial branch shrugged and said "What are you going to do?".

Slowly chipping away.

Poor, poor Palace.

I'm just going to try and enjoy New Year's without thinking about how terrible we've looked for 3 games now.

Pain.

After taking a few hours to calm down, make some soup, and do some chores, I've become even angrier. So there's that.

Tried to make it a bit more readable. Also, fixed the order of the promoted teams.

Also let's FOGGING GO GAIS

I am for some reason up at 3 am so I made this, since I don't think we have one of these set up yet. Will try and keep it updated/post after matches if people like it.

It's kind of insane to see us at the top of the table despite having 4 points worse than this time last year. We really were flying high.

Also, we've played quite a few home matches to bottom half teams - hopefully that gave us the time to work some Havertz-shaped kinks out and continue the the title push.

Born too late to explore the world, too early to explore the galaxy, but just in time to watch City lose points to Chelski and post dank memes.

A nice recap of the Newcastle and Sevilla matches, along with a section on Havertz.

Don't want to do my man Scott dirty by reposting the whole thing, so I'll summarize:

Ramsdale last season allowed 39 goals from 39.5 PSxG (post-shot xG). Raya last season allowed 41 from 50.9 PSxG, with the disclaimer that it was Brentford.

However, the big difference comes in their performance when facing easier vs harder shots.

Ramsdale performs much better than expected against more difficult shots, but either tracks or dips below average otherwise.

Raya performs poorly compared to expected against very difficult shots, but otherwise outperforms the average.

Last season, our defense was good but not perfect, and when teams attacked us, they tended to be in extremely favorable conditions. Given our defensive improvements this season, my conclusion is that Arteta is seeking to eliminate giving up the extremely difficult shots that Ramsdale is particularly good at saving (this also may contribute to Ramsdale's reputation as a "Hollywood keeper").

Therefore, what we need is not someone who will pull a worldie and make impossible saves, but someone who will steadily outperform the average against reasonable chances that Saliba and Gabriel occasionally let slip through. Hence, Raya over Ramsdale.
