Yes, but it'd be nice that if a user has an idea for a bot they can easily build it, test it, and share it (with community approvals). Also, there is a mastodon based remindme bot. It's not specifically coded for Lemmy, but it's compatible. Just mention @[email protected]

That was mostly the plan.

Although, I'm definitely revising my post draft to account for these new requirements

I'll be making a post about it before the end of the month, although access to the service will be limited to moderators, instance admins, and curated users for a probably a year.

Hi @[email protected] @[email protected],

I'm planning on launching a service soon that will allow users to quickly and easily create+run lemmy bots similar to automod. I've posted about it on the Lemmy Matrix before, but is there a best place to contact you all to ensure that as I open pandora's box, everyone is ready?

Yeah, I found your project recently. However, it still requires a user to find somewhere to host the bot. I'm aiming on providing essentially a duplicate of Automod, ease of setup through plaintext, not needing to host, and everything.

Launchdarkly is likely a culprit as well. Just doing a background search reveals that the service allows dev teams to do A/B testing, enable new features without releasing a new version, and various other "dynamic" functions.

OP is on the wrong side of Occam's razor

Ads & Analytics, like most things.

Wouldn't surprise me if there's an in-app ad / self promotion / community announcements / et al that is managed via FB's Graph API

I don't believe there is one. You may be able to figure it out based on some of their commit/issue activity but a good amount of them probably have the same username on both sites

Additionally, check out the official lemmy matrix chat

What I know so far:

  • vlemmy is still "up" and intermittently accessible. It is running slow as hell, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE INSTANCE as it will likely only slow things down more and make it inaccessible again.

  • Stripe, Librepay, and Github accounts are all closed. Closure date unknown
  • Reddit account still exists and has been messaged
  • No mentions of the instance in Element.io chats but still searching
  • They have almost certainly NOT lost their domain. Who.is historical records show no ownership or nameserver changes.

I have some minor personal details I've found that I'll be deep driving on later, but it's 1AM EST. I'm heading to bed but will continue on the investigation around 9AM EST.

Update 1PM EST July 9th:

Hi all, I'm working through about 40 different potential leads right now.

Although I need some help! Specifically, I need people who have viewed [email protected] to check their browser cache for this image:

You can do so using one of the following NIrsoft tools:

I'm hoping since it's a historic image linked to their internet presence that it might generate specific leads.

I'll update more as things progress.

Hi all,

I was wondering what everyone is putting in their sidebars? So far I have:

  • Community Description
  • Community Rules
  • Community Specific Lemmy Usage Tips
  • Similar Community Recommendations

Edit: Yep, it worked. AND it duplicates notifications since they're comment replies

I see there's a section for it in the inbox, but I haven't gotten one yet so I'm not sure if it works. Does it only work in the local instance or across the fediverse? Is it only for comments, or does it include posts as well?
