Amazon has some good shows, like Invincible, Fallout and The Boys, but then there’s Rings of Power. RoP alone is enough for me to be okay with a Bond pause.

I’m sad I won’t get picked for the jury. I’d refuse to convict on all counts. If Trump gets no punishment for literally anything this dude should get no punishment for fighting back against an absolutely broken system. Honestly, I don’t view his actions to be something to cause a public backlash. The prosecution is what will cause the public backlash, imo.

nah, they should be forced to divest. Insider trading at an extreme. If you or I commit insider trading it's jail time.

Steven Seagal would gladly give away his likeness rights for AI generated slop movies, but no one is asking for his likeness rights :3

There was some groaning but, if there’s no other way, either use Signal or invest in a Pigeon coop and get training.

Any particular reason you are abandoning SMS? Any particular reason for the strict rule?

A half black, half Indian woman, though!

It's going to take something monumental for the US to ever change- and even then I doubt it will. People seem 100% stupider than 15 years ago and some study just showed adult intelligence has dropped in multiple areas. I wonder if people infected with COVID literally got stupider on top of all the lead poisoning from pre-90's.

My friend, if we are turning this into another lemmy/fediverse circlejerk there's no point. If any fediverse community contains similar content, the mods will eventually rectify it for legal reasons

This year I would've loved to see A Real Pain but it was only showing at one theater near me and only for one showing that I couldn't make. For original movies I actually had access to in theaters, last year I saw Dream Scenario, American Fiction, Polite Society,, Theater Camp, Zone of Interest, Problemista and Poor Things. All great. I also watched Rotting in the Sun on Mubi's app and it was just okay.

No - I’m not letting this logic fester or gain traction. Trump and republicans do not want to replace the ACA. That’s a complete and total fantasy. Democrats took decades to get the ACA enacted, so once it’s gone it’s probably gone for decades. If republicans gave a damn they would’ve helped fix what is wrong with the ACA, but they’d rather full repeal with no plan to replace. Listen to what any of them say or do, they wear it as a badge of honor.

Hi all - I've never done an install of Linux before but have always hovered around the community. Now that I have a "spare" and old Macbook Pro that is no longer supported by Apple, I am interested in installing Linux on the device. Obviously I am asking a very broad question here, but are there recommendations on what OS to install on Macs? What are some good resources to find installation guides? In general, just looking for guidance as I start this process as I'm very green to the idea. Thanks all.
