Department of Government Efficiency is the name of the department that ends up involved in creating Soylent green or some crazy human organ harvesting thing.

This sets off all sorts of red flags that bother the shit out of me. Like I'll take boring dystopia over human slaughterhouses TYVM

You haven't seen Tenet? Boi, lemme introduce you to one of my favorite movies of all time.

People can crap on it all they want but when you rewind it to check what you already saw happen again your brain gonna be like "oh holy shit I need to see that AGAIN!"

Sorry. I really like Tenet.

Yeah my management was all gungho about exploiting AI to do all sorts of stuff.

Like read. Not generative AI crap, but read. They came to us and said quite literally: "how can we use something like ChatGPT and make it read."

I don't know who or how they convinced them to use something that wasn't generative AI, but it did convince me that managers think someone being convincing and confident is correct all the time.

Yeah, and that fuckwits name was Paul von Hindenburg in Germany.

The fall of the Roman Republic was way more complex though wasn't it? Like the Senate killed Ceaser and then voted to give his son unlimited tenure as Commander In Chief? There's a lot to unpack there

Oh good lord.

You know, it's kind of weird to me that there are republicans stating he won't be confirmed, which, also has me wondering, does that mean he does not have a senate full of Yes men?

Trump isn't going to like that, so I assume they will change their mind after a little private one on one meeting with him.

We don't! That's the best part about having a country full of idgafologists and sociopaths.

The answer is Guns, and more guns.

But people seem to not understand how fucking outgunned the population is versus the military.

I always hear a different story. One side says the soldier/airman/sailor/(are Marines just grunts?) is supposed to carry out all lawful orders by their superior, and the other is to protect the constitution.

National Guard and Coast Guard aside (which are technically state militaries, but Congress has recently given the President to authority to Federalize them without the governor consenting), it seems to me that one of the things a service member should have learned was that the military cannot operate domestically.

Now, I've met some smart officers, and some really dumb officers, and a lot of... People who survived enlistment and they all swear up and down that the reality comes to what happens when a gun is pressed against your head. Do you die for your country (as is your job) or do you commit treason risking that punishment in the future.

I like to imagine there's a super top secret elite of the elite who are basically selected because at some point faced with that question and they take the bullet and become involved with an organization like Tenet.
