I just made a major step on one. I’ve been collecting small electronics of all sorts over the last 15 years or so, a lot of them pretty obscure. I just got a computer I wanted to use to build an inventory of everything and start a YouTube channel to highlight each item in the collection.

I’m in almost the exact same position. Next year is the start of my project to start making videos out of my collection of gadgets and the idea is to organize them as I go through them.

This sounds absolutely terrible. So everyone gets their own separate education that no one is vetting? And what you learn sounds like it could be totally different than the next person.

We’re fucked if this is how kids are being taught going forward.

Oh hey! I own a copy of this!

I want to throw Unihertz a shout-out. I only have the JellyPhone for its novelty, but as far as devices go, it does all the things an Android phone should, even with the silly form factor. It being stock Android is a big plus as well

I can’t necessarily speak for their other phones, but if the build quality is the same, I really like what they’re doing.

It’s too bad ChatGPT will never replace a real Reddit thread:

“I have nothing to hide” until the government decides what you are and always have been has suddenly become a crime. Now all those years of “not hiding” makes conviction guaranteed.

I had tried about a dozen other distros and all of them had something I didn’t really like. I finally landed on OpenSuse just because it feels like it’s made to get work done. No package manager drama or power trips from devs.

It just comes across as the guy on the project that just does all the work for everyone else because they’re too distracted.

Still haven’t come across nearly anything that I can’t accomplish through the Yast GUI. I wish I had come across it sooner, honestly.

It got reposted at low res at some point and then someone tried an AI upscale to try and make it better.

You’re right. I’m thinking of malaprop.

~~Spoonerisms~~ Malaprops are when a character chooses a similar sounding but wrong word for comedic effect.

This is only my test picture. I’ll be posting a full album from my DSLR later next week.

It is insane just how big these events are and how surprisingly well organized everything has been. Really impressed overall with how alive everything has been.

I had earplugs plus noise canceling headphones on and the engines were still clear as day. Absolutely insane how fast they go. GA is sat right around the sphere and it’s a pretty heavy breaking zone. Even then, trying to track the cars for a good shot proved really challenging. Definitely pushed my skills.

And totally unrelated, but I also learned OneRepublic is responsible for like 90% of the modern pop radio that I hate. So that was fun to sit through…

I’ll be going to see the Las Vegas GP. I’ve never been to a Formula 1 race and don’t know what to expect from the days surrounding the race. Are there any tips you wish you knew before going the first time? I plan on going to the full race weekend and not sure what to bring to make my stay more comfortable. Also, any tips on stops I should make in that area of Vegas while I’m there?
