The other one off the top of my head that I've personally tried is Deadeus which was kinda the poster child for GBStudio.
I also really enjoyed Super Jacked Up Tomato Face Johnson, which is much simpler but stays fun.

I never actually beat Nocturne (OG PS2 vers) for points 1&2 above.
The game looks and sounds so good but I became a pillar of salt like 1/3 of the way through.
Good to know!
I have a big interest in these new titles releasing on old chips; some of them do narrative / design things which would have never been considered "back in the day", so it helps spice up the library and really maximize what you can get out of these retro devices!
I was doing a thing with a friend who had moved where we corresponded via snail mail as if we were characters in a fantasy world. I was getting into physically roleplaying the writing process -- 3D printed a wax seal for the letters and ended up buying a Kaweco Lilliput Brass when looking for a copper or brass fountain pen to write the letters with.
Next thing I knew I had more pens than sense and more ink than I'll ever be able to use.
I can also vouch for the Hongdian black forest being surprisingly decent!
I'm working through some Godot4 tutorials I obtained through the humble bundle a little bit ago. Currently doing an RTS using navigationlayer2D.
As an experienced non-game dev I'm finding the process painfully slow, but I've discovered trying to use Godot (or any game dev software) without starting on these simple tutorials is basically impossible since there's so many weird DX things and layers of menus and game-dev-specific functionality.
Like who would even know navigationlayer2D was a thing?
I'm still looking myself! The developer looks to be starting a mastodon community (pocketpixels.club) where I found FusionRGamer which seems to have a decent collection of new game news (at least for the gameboy!)
