Buying interchangable needles was a huge game changer for my organization ability - they replace both circular and straight needles. Between those and dpns, I never need to buy needles unless I break or lose something.

Here is a pic of my diy dpn storage in case anyone is looking for inspiration.

It's purely subjective but I've seen a noticeable increase in bot prevalence. My lurker account has recently had multiple porn bots suddenly start to follow it which has never happened before.

What I wouldn't give to have stats on what % of the active Reddit community is actually organic vs bot.

I woke up this morning without a Memmy update alert and my first thought was "OMG is gkd ok????"

Then I get an update pushed to my phone while pouring my coffee... The universe is right again.

This isn't going to happen in the future.

It's happening right now.

Bots are already engaging with users and pushing narratives. The percentage of Reddit that is inorganic is probably higher than most people would expect.

Dracula purple gang rise up!!!

Although it would be fun if people could make and share their own themes. That's probably a nightmare to program, but it would be neat!

How utterly depressing.

Does the Fediverse have a similar feature, where communities/magazines can be private and only allow users to view/subscribe to them with mod approval?

I know this is possible with instances, but that seems impractical since the account would be defederated from the entire Fediverse to maintain privacy.

This is exactly what I think. We might see a fraction of a spike from the few holding out until the very end, but it won't be this mass exodus people keep proclaiming it to be.

Apollo has published many blatant warnings to the app about the shutdown, you literally can't use the app without seeing them. Nobody using Apollo is going to be surprised at being cut off.

I assume the other apps are doing something similar to warn their users.

Those who care are already finding their way over here. Those who don't care are using the Reddit app. Those who are somehow still ignorant of what's happening probably don't use Reddit enough to know the difference.

I'm still waiting on the ETA for my Ultra Tec, so it'll be anywhere between a few weeks and a few months before I can join you - but I promise as soon as I have a shiny I'm proud of, I will post it!

In the meantime I shall continue to live vicariously through your work 😂

Thank you so much for making these posts - without you I wouldn't have realized there was a saw attachment I could get for my machine, and would've instead wasted my time saving up for a trim saw and trying to pick rough that didn't need cutting. You posted just in time!!

Honestly the speed at which you create and implement and fix these things is incredible - and mildly alarming. Do you sleep? Is your blood at least 10% caffeine by now?

ARE YOU A ROBOT IN DISGUISE???

But for real, thank you for all you do and a huge kudos for how freakishly efficient you are. 😄
