There’s a lot to be said with merging as fast or faster than traffics.

When you can reduce the number of obstacles you have to track it’s easier to start safe

I ride with lots of annoying lights, high vis, distinctive cowboy helmet, take the lane, always my rear view glasses mirror.

I ride aggressive and assertive in traffic/busy towns and chill waaaay back off road and on paths.

Except of course when I don’t….

You an cut both down to size.

Double check the female piece for thread length

For the male piece put a nut on the threads before you cut. Then file / grind the threads to a soft edge. Lastly unthread the nut. Make sure if spins freely before removing it all the way. If you need to thread it back in and re-file a bit do that before unthreading completely removing.

Maybe consider a trailer. My first cargo solution was an old folding kid trailer. Lasted 1000’s of miles.

They are light, filled up pretty small, quick to attach, can carry loads very well

I have a feeling that you and I would get along over coffee.

Carry on and be safe out there!

Oh I loved these types of rides when I lived in the Netherlands. It was so easy to literally go as the wind blew me.

I would set off full of snacks and a gps waypoint at a train station down wind from Eindhoven.

I would not plan out the ride before hand as there are many good paths. I would instead choose the nicest (tree lined for sunny days … tree lined for rainy days …) way that generally keep me on my heading.

I would discover the most beautiful routes and points of interest along my way.

Eventually I built up a good club of riders who would join for these adventures

Nowadays I live in hilly CA and it’s getting harder to make those types of miles.

You would t leave your other belongings on the road. Why has leaving you car been normalized!

I’m on a 2013 Vaya. That bike changed my life. Easily over 20k miles and still going.

Happy trails

All the fuss over there really left a bad impression of that site. After many years I’m happy to shift over here

Lemmy is what Reddit was meant to be so many years ago
