The good thing is lemmy is so new that even if the devs wanted to, they probably haven't had the time (or data) to implement any of this.
I'm sure new categories will spring up to skirt the rules. Like rubbing the mic on their butt ASMR or similar.
Dude the submersible's gone, there isn't gonna be another trip down there. Get your $250,000 back and do something meaningful with your life.
Australia to New York? Believe it or not, also a short walk.
That's a good point. At some point we need to be able to sustain a conversation beyond "look at reddit".
I'm just sad that so much time, resources and attention was focused on the fate of these 5 people, when there are literally 2 other incidents involving the potential deaths of hundreds of migrants happening at the same time.
There's so much irony in the fact that the world's resources were mobilised to save 5 people while 2 major incidents involving the death of a lot of migrants was happening. First the Greece incident, now this.
I use Jerboa sometimes too. There are a few statistics on the sidebar when you view it on the website, including subscribers and active users. I don't know for sure, but I assume subscribers refer to people who click on subscribe, while active users refer to the number of people who have posted in the sub. For some reason, Jerboa only shows active users and not subscribers.
700+ active users looks about right to me though - as with reddit, there's bound to be a large majority of lurkers.
We need a competition for "most ridiculous place to ask for tips".
Who knew Edison and his wife dressed up as furries every night? So lucky we have a photo of it for posterity.
