I wonder who did the original design bc I have this on a mug

[–] dylpickles 1 points 2 years ago

That's probably the case especially given the gas tank is sitting at empty

So PRNDS has me confused. Bc obviously it's

P - park

R - reverse

N - neutral

D - drive

S - sport

What I don't get is like why it's there if it doesn't show any of them selected

Like what would be its purpose/how is nothing selected if it does serve a purpose

I'd honestly go a different direction with the burn like white chocolate is to chocolate what sweet potato chips are to potato chips.

If we were to figure out where saltine crackers relate to potato chips in reference to chocolate or general sweets I'd say if potato chips are milk chocolate Hershey's then saltine crackers are toffee.

I literally never said the tank wasn't 66 tons I just said being able to flip it in game is done as a game mechanic and not meant to be taken as seriously for strength scaling

You can literally flip several ton warthogs in ODST when you're just a regular fit human

Chief, base on what we can read or be told from the halo lore, is likely more in the 2-5 ton range

Well yeah there's no chance a tank is only 2 tons you're right. I'm just saying his ability to flip the tank is inconsistent with lore and is, to my understanding, just a game mechanic for the sake of fixing flipped tanks.

Edit: for the record ODSTs can also flip huge incredibly heavy military vehicles in game which just further proves it's just a game mechanic. On the other hand the only game lore that confirms Spartans flipping things as a feat of strength is a mention in the Spartan Field Guide claiming Spartans can flip warthogs which are rough in the 3 ton range

I know this is a meme but also let's bring in the spirit of reddit and get some "well actually" up in here.

  1. We all know the tank flipping is just a game mechanic I'd say chief is more reasonably in the 2-5 ton range

  2. That pistol cartridge is basically a .500 magnum out of a pretty small semi automatic hand cannon. Idk if you've ever shot a .500 magnum but it SUUUUUUUCKS. Gripping that thing as hard as you can without shaking it still kicks like a bull and hurts your wrists. Not to mention the magnum in game is a semi auto pistol and has a slide that reciprocates and is probably heavy as fuck.

  3. idk when the last time you saw the magnum unloaded in Halo combat evolved but that thing is a laser beam. The follow up shots are pin point accurate and it looks like chief is just letting the recoil push back his hands for exactly how long it takes the slide to reciprocate.

  4. Even with his insane strength you gotta imagine that, that cartridge has at LEAST 4000 J of energy. My man is feeling that energy push back on him one after another after another in pretty insane succession. Super strength or not it's gotta be easier on him to not fight it every step of the way when he's obviously capable of getting that follow up shot perfectly with almost no time wasted.

Yooo I've also been replaying it. I've 100% it already but with the next gen updates there were a good chunk of changes. I've been loving it all over again.

So she sounds sketchy I GUESS but I can't help but look at everything the police have said thus far and think "that's kinda fuckin dumb isn't it?"

Like no evidence of the baby? The baby walked for 6 football fields? The fuck are you talking about dude?? She was in a car. You obviously got this information from cell towers. Just because she can continue to relay visual information about the child for 600 yards doesn't mean the baby also traveled 600 yards.

Unless the phone call was her being like "oh yeah that baby is walking quite a bit looks like I dunno he's coming up on clearing 4 football fields about now"

Ridiculous. Also I dunno dude like this whole thing is definitely bizarre but really not that bizarre?

Like she was probably stealing from work which good more power to her. The amber alert thing from her and her friend at work is probably her looking it up snapchatting a friend about it and then the friend looking it up.

Which tbh it seems like such a dead lead I mean amber alerts are used to find kids who are currently missing not to find the parents of those kids. Idk why it's so hard to believe that a regular person would just not know what tf they were used for and be confused about how to proceed in this situation.

Furthermore, I can't really think of a situation where someone would willingly leave their car, phone, and I believe keys all on the side of the road and it be for some supposed ruse.

Everything the police have release on this case thus far seems really fuckin lazy imo and is them stacking up the "reasons" why they won't pursue the case any further.

Edit: oh and I forgot to mention them continually referencing that she looked up the movie taken?? Like who the fuck cares dude what could that possibly have to do with anything?? Was she looking for inspiration on how to scream into a phone that's been dropped on the floor? I swear they're grasping at straws to make it seem sketchier than it is and justify them doing a shitty job on the investigation.

Edit 2: they got the information about her moving 600 yards from an app on her phone

Edit 3: amber alert search seemingly came two days prior with one claim of a search coming from her workplace on the day of her disappearance. I think that's sketchy and all but I've also only seen that information in one place. I think at this point all we can do is stay tuned. I just really can't imagine what benefit this would be to anyone to fake

Edit 4: I still think police are mad incompetent, I still think the "issue" of the toddler moving 600 yards is stupid, and frankly I think expecting there to be other calls about a child is also kinda stupid given the videos and her detailing in the call that he's hard to see. All of that being said I think I'm holding out for more details. To my mind she's innocent till proven guilty and cops are incompetent until proven capable. I'll edit again if anything interesting comes up

Edit 5: she confesssd and has been charged! The more I read about the story the more I was impressed with how cohesive the story she was sticking to was. That being said she did a piss poor job of hiding the evidence of her creating that story. This was an interesting one that, if she hadn't been so stupid about her search history, could've easily been chocked up to police incompetence. It very well could've ended with her coming out of this scot-free.
