It almost had that like... sweetness that you may get off a good green apple... but still as a tomato. I'm not sure how to describe it, honestly.

It could totally be that my brain was tricking me because the firmness and the way it gave when biting into it was akin to an apple.

Who knows.

Although now I wanna science it up and figure out if you could cross an apple and tomato.

I was living in Vegas most of last year for a job-- I was running a garden out there, too. Having to learn how to garden in that climate really messed me up... its almost opposite of the midwest but somehow worse? And that is before adding in all the weird water use laws (guidelines?) there are out west.

I applaud you, truly.

Lets hope the midwest works some magic next year.

Otherwise-- I grow lots of peppers that are too hot for me that I process into other things-- maybe these could cut a salsa or hot sauce down for me if need be?

I tried to start everything super early too, knowing the midwest summers have been so unpredictable lately.

Oh well, I'll still have some. Just not all.

So what I'm hearing is that I shouldn't be too upset about spending $1.00 on cream sausage seeds?

I only bought them the other day because one of the companies I use was doing half off all seeds... so I wouldn't be growing them until next year anyway, unless I toss a grow tent up in one of the outbuildings.

I guess they shall be for salsas.

Once again, thank you guys for all that you do. As many other people are saying, appreciate the transparency about these things.

[–] cheeseblintzes 3 points 1 year ago

It would be silly to not.

Here’s a tomato for you 🍅
