I had a greenhouse mishap this spring, causing me to have to buy a lot of plants from the store.

I can't wait to see what all she gives me!

But next year, its back to from seed only.

Yeah, the weather's been weird on the west coast too, but in the opposite direction. We had a very cool wet spring, and my plants are suffering from bacterial spot, a disease I've literally never had to fight to any real degree before.

I was living in Vegas most of last year for a job-- I was running a garden out there, too. Having to learn how to garden in that climate really messed me up... its almost opposite of the midwest but somehow worse? And that is before adding in all the weird water use laws (guidelines?) there are out west.

I applaud you, truly.

Yeah, I'm not out in the desert proper like Vegas, but it's still crazy hot and dry. I used to live by the coast, so I know what you mean by learning curve when moving to a new climate. New watering needs, timing of plantings, new pests, even how you'd layout the garden changes.

I also roasted my garden earlier this summer and had to replace about half the garden with store plants… just so damn hot and sunny in the Midwest this year

I tried to start everything super early too, knowing the midwest summers have been so unpredictable lately.

Oh well, I'll still have some. Just not all.
