My world view may be a bit bleak but here goes:

In my opinion people who are comfortable will do anything to retain the status quo. Since patriarchal figures have pretty much dominated society for thousands of years, a strong feminine counterpart with a clear definition of personality traits and positive influences will upset the balance they have created.

So what I'm saying is: the ones that are assigning all kinds of negativity to femininity are the ones who suffer from its uprising.

To me personally, this is mostly noticeable through the way the world around me expects me to behave and treats me accordingly. For your context: I am a straight white male from the 90s from western Europe. We are more or less trained to surpress anything to do with sentiment, empathy, sympathy and just generally putting the needs of others before your own.

Like I stated before, this is rooted so deeply into our society that you are the odd one out if you don't conform. It wasn't until I went to college that I was exposed to different ways of thinking and realized that there was nothing wrong with me, it was just society's way of attempting to maintain its status quo by reprogramming me from the get-go.

So what can we do? Well I think change is already happening but it will take a lot of time. The only thing we as individuals can do is identify toxic patterns and attempt to empathize more with people whose views and, indeed, entire world differs from our own.

I love McLean's voice even though I think songs like Magdalene Lane and The Pride Parade are better than the ones he's famous for.

I asked this question a while ago to this person. There's a video of someone explaining it on YouTube. It's essentially just smaller blocks nudging along the diagonal line. Check out the other posts of OP.

I can't seem to find any reference to anything other than the TCG Live game, which is pretty entertaining but as someone who pretty much stopped playing after Gen 3 these might as well be Digimon..

What app is OP using specifically?

Taking it metaphorically the whole course of my life currently is killing me softly. I've got very little to complain about my life but I am just completely lost where I am even going and it is dragging me into depression. I'm getting help from both my employer and by my own looking for it but it'll take time. Working through issues is hard though.

I wish you all the strength with your heart issues and hope it never rears its head again!

Use it with a jet pack. It's a lot of fun! You can build one of those hypertube accelerators and fly high above the map for a while, enjoy the view.

The version is no issue for compatibility, correct. The only effect it may have is bottlenecking. PCIe is a very 'dumb' protocol: it doesn't affect any kind of features because the feature set is all handled in either the chipset or the expansion card. The only thing that ever gets an upgrade in PCIe standards is the bandwidth and all kinds of stability improvements that you really won't notice unless you are a power user.

If you want, you can put Nvidia's new 5090 in a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and it'll function properly. You can also put a PCIe 4.0 SSD in a PCIe 6.0 slot and it'll work fine. Really the only thing you have to worry about is whether the lanes provide enough bandwidth for the expansion card to use all of its power.

Another one is the movie 'The Fountain' which is played excellently by Hugh Jackman.

Hey welcome to my ramble of the day.

Lately I've been very aware of how every day I accomplish a little less and have more trouble getting through an evening without drinking.

Christmas is coming up and I'm spending it in Switzerland with my brother-in-law. All good, you'd say. Except both me and my wife are running on fumes. We are both super tired. We've discussed skipping it but we cannot do this to my mother-in-law. She doesn't often get both her kids together and she's had a rough year.

In any event, looking at my progress over the past few weeks I feel like I'm doing a little worse every day and just that realization is making me kind of depressed.

So before I get all kinds of recommendations, here's my current game plan:

  • I've registered with a psychologist (not in the USA so insurance is not an issue)
  • My employer knows of evening and they are very supportive. I haven't been working since beginning of September)
  • I intend to take it very easy in Switzerland and try to relax around the other days of Christmas as well. Beginning of January will be super chill for me.

Thanks for bearing with me. I really hope to improve in the next year.

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to read. I've been feeling bad for some time now and figured now is a good a time as any to share.

I am having a pretty serious issue with activating myself lately. I've been sidelined from work since the beginning of September. In this time I've been speaking to several healthcare professionals and colleagues. I'm currently in the process of finding a therapist.

I've recently drawn the conclusion that I do not sometimes have bad days, I'm pretty much down every day but I have moments that I'm fine. The fine moments are getting more scarce though...

Today I am writing to you because my mind does not know what it wants. I can't decide if I wanna call my friends and have a beer or if I want to curl up on my bed and cry.

Anyway, that was what I wanted to share. Thanks for reading.

Hey all, I've narrowed it down to 3 options: AKG K371 (at €149) AKG K361 (at €104) AKG K182 (at €69)

Use case is just at my desk. I have CX Wireless for on the road and wireless listening.

I like a full low end and defined, crisp highs. I mostly listen to soft easy listening like Mazzy Star or rougher rock bands like Evanescence, Bad Omens etc. I also listen to melodic electronic music.

I've read a lot of reviews and I can't really decide on the soundstage. For this I've chosen AKG because I have the K512 mk2's now and I've been very pleased with them.

As for comfort, I need them not to clamp after an hour or two. I don't mind having to pause every now and then.

Any other recommendations welcome.

But bottom line, I think 69 for the K182 is a great deal even though the K3x1s might be better cans.

Looking to upgrade my trusty 1070Ti. I use my pc for RPGs (Borderlands, Hogwarts Legacy) , VR fps (Alyx, Arizona Sunshine) and VR simracing (F1 23).

Deciding between ASUS Dual 4070 (@ €600) or ASUS TUF 7800XT.

Benchmarks don't really tell the whole story because they rarely include DLSS3, but the games I play don't really support that anyway. TUF is a better cooler, but bulkier.

I can also just not buy anything and wait for the 4070 Super to come along.

Thoughts?
