I always just refresh the password until I get a random one without the characters the randomly choose to forbid ๐

Can confirm that Google will do this for you. Also, I switched to Bitwarden and Firefox last year so most of these passwords have either been changed or I haven't been on the site in years and don't much care and im not actually this exposed anymore ๐๐
Personally my phone goes into do not disturb when I it's charging and it's past 11pm. If any of my favorite contacts or a repeat caller calls me then it will actually ring through to me. But it's keeps the screen off, in black and white when it does get turned on manually, and means my phone doesn't vibrate or beat throughout the night for any notifications.
Idk if you've been back here since posting this comment but LJ has made comments impling the first version is releasing tonight.
I thought that was it but when I sopied it it has that. Idk what fixed it but after copying a suggested instance and applying that then switching to lemdro.id worked. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
This was on Firefox by the way.
Just installed. I can't set lemdro.id as my home instance because it doesn't match the proper formating. I even tried just copying directly from the address bar :(
edit: I copied lemmy.world from the suggestions and deleted lemmy.world and put in lemdro.id and it worked. idk what I was doing wrong the first time.
Ah yeah, I run into that sometimes but in my experience its pretty rare that it won't pop up. Sometimes just closing the app, from recent apps, and reopening will get it to trigger. I always assumed it had something to do with the apps save state when I closed it since it generally happens on my banking apps that automatically log me out. It's one thing I like about iOS is that when you are logging into something there is the little key button to open up iCloud keychain and Bitwarden so you don't have to let it do it automatically.
Oh that's for sure a big expense for most people myself included but if you go to the open collective link above the estimated budget for lemmy.world this year is only 16k ish. and thats to host one of if not the biggest instance right now. if every user donated a dollar the instance could run possibly for years.
Thats fair. I didn't really even get into Reddit until 2012. So I probably never noticed plus I mostly browsed on Sync on my phone and never really dealt with the website itself which imo is where things really went down hill.
Thanks for asking this. This is something I've been serious about for awhile. Turns out while it's expensive in the grand scheme of giant website it's not that expensive money wise. Though it is very time expensive.
Love it since this has been a hang up for me in the past but how do you handle when someone is logged into multiple instances? I'm on mobile right now can't download and check. Is there a way to select your home instance inside of the extension or does it know "know" which instance you are logged into?
Before I even posted this I actually read the last sentence and realized you answered my question posting this anyway incase anyone else skims then goes for the comments and to help engagement ๐ great work looking forward to installing it.
I didn't really start to use Lemmy until after the API shutdown. And even in that length of time it's been remarkable. The first week without reddit Lemmy wasn't really able to keep me death scrolling, which was a good thing probably. I eventually used revanced to get Sync working again on my phone. Since doing that I've spent maybe 3 hours on Reddit and probably 3 or 4 times that on Lemmy as the communities get more active and I find more communities I want to be a part of.
