Hi, thanks for your reply.

Lets call the original Proxmox container CT1 and this has the *arrs Dockers that can access and interact with the NFS share on TrueNAS

Lets call the new Proxmox container CT2 and this is the one giving me the can't access error

Lets call the cloned Proxmox container CT1Clone, this one can access the NFS share.

I think the NFS share is not restricted to any IP address, this is a screenshot of the NFS permissions. https://i.imgur.com/9k5jnw4.png I can also access if from my Windows machine that also has a different IP address.

CT1 & CT1Clone work fine, CT2 doesn't work.

Thank you, I'm really pleased how it came out.

I've got 2 3D printers and I use them infrequently but they are really handy.

I don't know where you're from, but in the UK, interest rates have been rising every month for the last 13 months and for some people that are having to remortgage their payments are tripling in price overnight! I was on a tracker mortgage and has slowly risen from £300 per month to over £800 per month. So, tell me again how mortgages don't go up every year.

I don't subscribe to Audible. 😳

I consume most of my books via audiobooks.

I'm just about to finish the final Expeditionary Force book, overall I really enjoyed the series, yes there were a few low points (we won't talk about the the audio drama one!) but I thought it held up well.

This is my list of upcoming books:

Thank you, I will check it out.

My Raspberry Pi's are named after planets and large bodies on the Solar system.

My servers are named after The Expanse characters and ships.

VM's and CT's after their usage with a tag in Proxmox for the OS used.

Correct, it is John Lewis.

It depends on how busy the roundabout is.

If it's really busy and there is a possibility of traffic backing up on either of the the two exits before the one you want to take then I'd be in the righthand lane on approach and move to the lefthand lane as soon as I'm past the second exit, getting in the lane marked A610 going under the bridge. This way you avoid possibly getting caught in slow moving traffic and adding to the back up.

If the roundabout isn't that busy then using the lefthand lane on approach would be fine and just staying in the lefthand lane all the way.

Roundabouts need to be as free flowing as possible, so use whichever lane is going to keep the traffic moving best.

I use a roundabout everyday that crosses a motorway and the traffic joining the motorway always backs up the slip road on to the roundabout at rush hour. Often people wanting to go "straight" over the roundabout get in the lefthand lane on approach and then get stuck in the backed up traffic which just adds to the congestion. I tend to approach in the righthand lane and move to the left once past the motorway exit. I've noticed that people tend to leave a gap for the traffic in the righthand lane to go through but will block the lefthand lane just in case someone sneaks in front of them!! LOL

Thank you again. Yeah, I'm trying this from home as opposed to a vps. It's more as a learning exercise than a serious instance.

I'm still going to try and getting it working behind my reverse proxy, like I say, as a learning experience.

Thank you so much for replying.

I think this is above my skill level, but I will have a read through your advanced configuration page and see if I can understand it.

Thanks again, but I think I'm going to need more than luck!! LOL

Caught him mid yawn and it looks like he's shouting at me and wants to rip my guts out!! LOL

Hi All,

Thought I'd add a quick post on how simple it is to add a 2nd NIC to the Dell Optiplex MFF PC's.

The unit I bought came with a wireless M.2 card and antenna and also an extra Display Port in the accessory port. I didn't need either of these so I removed both.

I then purchased this M.2 wired NIC from Amazon, I was too impatient to wait to get a slightly cheaper one from Aliexpress!! LOL https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B6ZVRNQ1?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Installation was really simple, I just had to ensure that the ribbon cable was laid as flat as possible so that it wouldn't interfere with the SSD and caddy. https://i.imgur.com/lt5Zgs5.jpg

I used two plastic bolts and nuts to hold the NIC port in the accessory port hole, it's not a perfect fit but it is secure enough.

I'm going to use this server as a pfSense router running in a Proxmox VM so the 2nd NIC was important.

I had some fun getting Proxmox and pfSense to see the 2nd NIC, but that's for another post!!

My Mini Lab! (lemmy.world)

Hi all,

Seeing as I created this community it seems only fair that I kick it off with details of my Mini Lab!! LOL

Instead of them just sitting on top of each other I took inspiration from another user and built a custom rack using 2020 aluminium extrusion and 3D printed parts.

These are the specs of the servers

Make Model CPU RAM HDD 1 (OS) HDD 2 (Storage) Installed OS
Dell Optiplex 7060 Intel i7-8700T 24Gb 240GB SSD 500GB M.2 Proxmox (Holden)
Dell Optiplex 7050 Intel i5-7500T 16GB 240GB SSD 500GB M.2 Proxmox (Nagata)
Dell Optiplex 7050 Intel i5-6600 8GB 240GB SSD 500GB M.2 Proxmox (Kamal)
Dell Optiplex 7050 Intel i5-7500T 16GB 240GB SSD 500GB M.2 Proxmox (Burton)
Dell Opitplex 3050 Intel i5-7500T 8GB 500 HDD 500GB M.2 Proxmox Backup Server

Pictures - https://imgur.com/a/d950ydM You can see most of the services I'm running in the Proxmox cluster screen shot, but I'm also running these in the CT called "docker-test"

  • Docuwiki
  • Heimdall
  • Homeassistant (test env)
  • Nextcloud (test env)
  • Nginx Proxy Manager
  • Portainer
  • Overseer
  • Pi-Alert
  • Uptime Kuma

My "Holden" node currently has nothing running but I intend to use this node for Plex and the *arr's suite using my TrueNAS as storage for the movies & TV shows instead of the local storage.

I also have a a Dell Wyse 3040 that I've installed Proxmox on and this runs my instance of OpenVPN when I 'm away on holiday so that I can shutdown all the servers but still VPN home.

I've uploaded the print files to Printables - https://www.printables.com/model/499181-mini-lab-rack-for-dell-optiplex-mff-servers in case anyone wants to use them for something similar.

Also, it's quite heavy so I've had to relocate it from on top of a utility room wall cupboard as I wasn't convinced the cupboard brackets would support the cupboard, it's contents and the server rack!! LOL

Hi All,

I have a 2022 Model 3 that I absolutely love! but there are a couple of things that I don't fully understand.

1/ Sentry Mode - when I first got the car 15 months ago, I would have a fair few sentry mode notifications/recordings when I returned to the car after it had been parked up away from home, i.e. at work, in a car park, etc. but in the last few months I've had hardly any, maybe 2 in 6 months!!

2/ Cabin Overheat Protection - last week I was away on holiday for a week and left it parked in an open air car park at the airport for the 8 days I was away. When I parked I had 91% battery so I left sentry mode on so that I could see how much was used. I checked the app a few times while I was away and nearly everyday the cabin temperature was 48-53 degrees C, with an external temp of 26-29 degrees C (it has been very warm here in the UK last week). But as far as I can tell the C.O.P. didn't kick in even though it is on and set to 40 degrees C.

I don't subscribe to premium connectivity if that makes any difference.

Does anyone have any ideas?

TIA
