It looks like a damaged philips (2?). I‘d say you want to replace it

Oh, not to forget about filament for the 3d printer. My favourite brands (sunlu, esun) are only available though amazon.

Basically every usb cable i have bought. If you try it locally, there are like two bigger chains in every city who sell those at ridiculous costs. To get them at a reasonable price you’d have to drive to a specialised vendor available only in the biggest cities (conrad, elv) or at very remote places (e.g. pollin).

You really don’t know what this is?

It is a (arguably fancy) egg piercer for boiling eggs.

The best beers in the usa (said microbreweries) are mediocre at best compared to the low standard European ones. Sorry to say this, but there are very, very few acceptable beers in usa. Mexicans and Canadian are better.

No hate, but they all lack a flavourful taste.

German, belgium and czech beers are great, Irish stouts are wonderful, and so on. You can grab a random (best: local) beer and it will be a good one.

You have to really look out for an acceptable one in usa. If you are lucky, a microbrewery in your area will produce a good one, but you have to have a good portion of luck here. Most of those good ones are brewed by an „imported“ german brewer who got a formal education on this. You can actually study this in the city nearby me and some students think of opening a brewery in the usa. So naturally i got in touch with some of them. One factor is the hops you can get in the us. The quality and taste is very different to the one we produce. You almost cannot reproduce the conditions you have here in the holledau. Even if you get very good hops the malting and the grain is different (mexicans use corn, which actually tastes very good). Barley doesn’t equal barley, so you have the differences here.

Long story short: the ingrediens are different due to locally available products, the methods are slightly different, so you have a different product. Unfortunately the circumstances in the us are what they are, so you need very experienced personell to produce a good beer.

Some are okay-ish. But there is nothing compared to european beer. German especially.

Everybody who denies that this was a Hitlergruß denies a wall is a wall because it isn‘t 100% vertical.

America is a Nazi country now. Simple as it is.

Not in the war of independence but one war later (British-American war).

How to adult.

Basically how to choose your internet and phone provider, compare the contracts etc. Same with power supplier. How to choose from the different suppliers and the impact of base price with the price per unit (and when it makes sense to choose a higher line price when the power price per unit is cheaper).

Insurance. Regulations for the driving license (like if you study and still are registered at home, you might have a hard time to make your license at your study place).

And all nitty picky things you have to remember when you grow up and rent your own place.

As well as learning and working contracts. Like how many vacation days are mandatory and what is usual.

Edit: If and how you do taxes. When they are mandatory and when they are optional.

Well, i guess you get the point. All those nasty responsibilities nobody explains you before being confronted with.

No. I usually read books anyway, and i tend to forget my phone very often. So nothing unusual.

Happy thanks giving everyone. Do you celebrate and if so, how?

Hey fellow coffee friends. As it is hot season here in Germany I actually enjoy my coffee cold, so I set up a cold brew every two or three days.

Well, when I got into that habit I got the hint to never let the brew touch metal as it alters the taste to the worse, it gets sour and „off“.

Now my question is, is this a myth? I see cold brew makers which would be way more convenient than my measurement cup/cotton filter method, but all of them have some kind of metal filter, so I am very reluctant to buy one of those. Has anyone insights and our experience on this topic?

Hey folks. Little update on the restoration project. There was a bit more rust than expected, so it needed to be worked over way longer. Now it is the third week in the garage.

I hope next week it will get ready to drive again. I had it on winter tires as the summer ones were finished. Fresh summer tires are at the garage and the old winter ones are back in the storage.

I really need someone for the foil, but I send requests out at local garages. Let’s wait for the tenders (prices & work estimate).

My favourite, to be honest

Got a 2002 SLK 200 Kompressor recently. My mechanic told me they start to rust in the catalogue. Well, he didn’t my. It is a bit of work (well, he is doing the work, I am just paying), but it will be a beautiful ride afterwards. The car will be rust free and sealed.

After that I am unsure to do. Should I get a LPG modification on it? I mean, it is „just“ a summer ride, but I use the convertible at every opportunity possible.

After this is decided, I plan to get a foil on it. Azure blue would be preferred, or do you have some ideas that could tickle my fancy?

Has anyone experience in those, yet? I think it will be available in Germany soon, so if anyone can tell me the difference they experienced I’d be grateful.
