Pixel 7 with a case but no screen protector. I realized that scratches on the screen are easily avoided and breaking the screen won't be stopped by a thin piece of plastic.

It seems to me like most phones are designed with the idea that you'll use a case. Trying to use the phone without a causes my palm to hit the screen constantly, resulting in errant touches my phone tries to respond to.

Ideally this phone lasts forever, that's the idea, anyway.

Furthermore, why is it so important to read old writing in the original script? Would that really change the meaning any?

They still got the frame completely wrong, unless there's a different radio segment I didn't hear. The one I heard was mostly from an expert I had never heard from before who made it seem like "the developers" were mad because they had to pay. They included a single throwaway line from Chris. (I think that's the Apollo dev's name.) No mention they the pricing was clearly intended to be unreasonable.

Ahh! Oh no! Who could have ever foreseen these consequences??

Kinda interesting that somehow because it's across a gender line people find it icky, but I've never heard of anyone being scared they'll get a kidney that's the wrong gender.

If I were world dictator I would just make advertising illegal. It's the perfect dictator move. Simple policy that's hard to enforce which will almost certainly have unintended consequences. But God damn do I hate advertising.

I'm not usually interested in pictures of food, but good Lord I can practically taste that cake. Amazing.

I can't verify their censorship, but they also run Lemmygrad. If you take a look around there you'll find literal propaganda. The solution is to not interact with lemmy.ml at least that's the solution in my opinion.

Yeah, you gotta be careful about how many options you give the user. Not enough and people can't customize the app to their liking or abilities. Too many and the app becomes difficult to maintain with the number of potential settings interactions going up at an absurd rate.

This one seems on the fence in my opinion. It's unlikely to cause any weird behavior, but it's yet another settings toggle to deal with for a problem that's easily overcome by just user experience.

I'll put it this way, I have 60 apps on my phone. 57 of them do not try to keep me in the app when I try to leave with the back button. 3 of them do. 0 of them give me a toggle to change this behavior. Of the 3 that try and keep me in the app, 1 is an app which tries to keep you addicted, 1 is an app which relies on a special WiFi connection which is closed by exiting the app, and 1 I honestly can't explain why they try and keep you in there.

So if we're using that as a vote for how developers feel about this feature, it's 57 against - 3 for.

Edit: although I will say that the current behavior of the back button is pretty bad. Instead of going back up layers, it walks backward through all the screens you've been to previously.
