This far right bullshit is happening all over the world. It’s not just a USA thing.
People call MAGA fascist because fascism usually involves:
- extreme nationalism, which is obvious with trump
- totalitarianism, which is also obvious. Trump is not seeking to work within a system of checks and balances — he’s seeking total power; he is the law, he cannot break the law, etc
- anti-democratic stances, which is also obvious given hints at “king”, third term, etc
- suppression of opposition, given how everyone who doesn’t agree is getting fired and how he’s signing executive order after executive order in an attempt to cement MAGA ideals and enact project 2025
- overt flaunting of power or military strength as a negotiation tactic; again obvious with tariff threats etc
This is why you come up with a hypothesis before running an experiment and collecting data. Otherwise you can pick a pattern in the data to propose just the right hypothesis.
Bannon’s whole schtick is saving white culture from “Marxism”. It’s not about this being obvious in a single moment in a vacuum. It’s obvious given who he is and what he fights for. He saw Musk get away with it. He wants to reinforce it.

Hear me roar, void. Hear me and see me, witness me use my limited time wisely writing nonsense reports, creating spreadsheets, and working unpaid overtime. Witness me cherish the wonder of the world by sitting in an office all day, returning home in stressful traffic, and having no time for friends and family. This is it. This is why we exist. I love it.
