10/10 for the video. No notes

Blackbeard was actually an excellent mod. I'm not picking sides on this fight, as it was resolved 2 months ago.

[–] JonsJava 5 points 5 hours ago

As stated in the screenshot, this happened in August. The team DID actually talk about this, and I put it to rest by hashing it out amongst both parties.

The person posting this is doing so WELL after the fact, out of context, and after resolution.

Neither side shared the screenshots with me, but the ones being shared proved they were shared by Blackbeard to someone. That's their prerogative, but I would have asked the other involved party prior to doing that.

It sucks that we lost a good mod, and that this event happened (again, resolved 2 months ago).

If the parties involved want, I can explain the entire situation. I'll DM both before I do that, though, as this wasn't my fight.

It's an easy way to work together. Yeah, Matrix would have made more sense.

They have other chat solutions as well, but not my place, so not my topic.

When you join, you can verify, and you're added to channels for your community/ies. If you're the first, they create the community channel automatically. Overall, a good idea.

I left the server, but for my own reasons unrelated to the mods/admins. Just needed to get rid of some discord servers.

I read your entire comment, and I just realized that you're amazing at word vomit.

4.5 paragraphs to say "votes don't matter, except when they do, but I don't care, except when I do"

We get it. you're edgy. Good for you. Votes can be whatever you want them to be. Me? I look at mod logs. Why? That's where I see the bad shit someone did. You? You're meh. Not horrible, but not someone I'd have a drink with. More likely someone I'll forget in 2 minutes.

Put simply: the doxing happened on lemmy.ml

The rule you pointed to is on lemmy.world

Different instances. Different rules. Add to that the fact that that asshat is a admin for lemmy.ml, and nothing is going to happen without a court injunction.

[–] JonsJava 4 points 5 hours ago

Daw. You think that you shouldn't have any rules? How fast would that go downhill, hmmm? The rules aren't to power trip. It's to keep it civil, and on topic.

But you knew that. You just love being an ass.

Oh, and zero of your community bans are from .world

Care to explain that? Are you actually quoting someone, or is it meant as read? Are you calling trans people perverts?

That's how I learned PHP in a week with no Internet or reference books. Had a couple open source projects on a thumb drive, an a strong urge to eat sometime that month. Reverse engineered one project into a movie rental system, and sold it to a gas station for $500.

God, that code was awful

I'm surprised that you seem to not realize that you helped bring Trump back in power. This was the plan, wasn't it? Jill Stein had no chance at gaining the office, but you rallied against Harris nonetheless.

Those .3-.5% in key states could have stopped Trump, and solidified under a banner that isn't anti-LGBTQ+.

The Green party essentially is under Trump.

A woman named Laura McCaskill used an Apple AirTag to track down her stolen Harris/Walz campaign sign, which led her to a home in Nixa, Missouri. When confronted, the young man's mother admitted that the signs in the trunk of the car belonged to her son, who she described as "just an idiot."

The incident involved the theft of around 60 signs from various homes in the neighborhood. McCaskill and other residents plan to file police reports, and McCaskill expressed concern about the entitlement and lack of accountability shown by the young man and his mother. The document also discusses the legal implications of stealing campaign signs, referencing Missouri Statute 115.637 which classifies such actions as a misdemeanor offense.

Hello world!

as the title says the server is BACK! It is hosted under a new server! The same map and your inventory is the same!

Domain is the same: minecraft.lemmy.world

Bedrock: minecraft.lemmy.world:1027

Please note: The new server is hosted in the USA so if you are joining from the EU please expect higher than before ping! This can not be avoided as the generous hoster doesnt have a server in the EU.

The generous hoster is @[email protected], thanks to him all this is possible.

The home limits are increased and there will be for everyone who wants it a new spawn where you can build from.

Thanks everyone

[META] MBFC bot (self.news)
submitted 2 months ago by JonsJava to c/news

The news mod team has asked to no longer be a part of the project until we have a composite tool that polls multiple sources for a more balanced view.

It will take a few hours, but FOR NOW there won't be a bot giving reviews of the source.

The goal was simple: make it easier to show biased sources. This was to give you and the mods a better view of what we were looking at.

The mod team is in agreement: one source of truth isn't enough. We are working on a tool to give a composite score, from multiple sources, all open source.

Hey. This community is dead. Let's revive it! What do YOU want to see here?

I can't be the only poster, or this will stay dead.

New mod, new rules (self.lemmydrama)
submitted 3 months ago by JonsJava to c/lemmydrama

Hey. I noticed that the only moderator for this community was banned a year ago, so I requested to take over.

I'm still working on the rules, the banner, and stuff, but one thing - going forward - I know will be a rule:

  • No drama you are a part of. If you're in the thread, don't post it here.

Also, as with all moderators, I'm always looking for people to help out. If you're interested, let me know!

Connect for Lemmy is my daily driver, but there aren't mod tools built in. For most of my moderation, it's either Alexandrite or REST calls.

Are there any native apps with good mod tools?
