I really liked "Hunt, Gather, Parent" by Doucleff for being critical about the way we(western parents) parent and what both science and history can teach us.

I like this, like a champion. Maybe those t-shirt & shorts in winter guys were competing to be their towns champion all along.

How is this enforced? Is someone taking the names on the beach? What are the penalties for not showing up?

Man, not another hobby...

I, like many of you I'm sure, am an avid collector of hobbies. Recently I've been into Analog Photography. Partly because I like the old machines involved and also because of the creativity and expression of making pictures.

One might ask: 'why not use a digital camera? It's so much easier, potentially cheaper and technically "better".'

To me it's like painting instead of drawing, maybe similar but also very different. One is not better than the other and you will get different results.

Or just see-through screens in general is so pervasive in futuristic depictions in media. They seem so impractical to me.

Agreed, though I can see the relevance if you liked those games. It certainly has its own style and features
