You can make some at true retirement home. Sad part is, our generation isn't getting any of those, most of us will be working till we drop.

Sure, it feels kinda nice but then gestures broadly at everything, that momentary "nice" feeling isn't going to get me out of debt, isn't a guarantee that I won't be fired and replaced the moment I am too old or sick to work, isn't going to get me out of my current "On a diet for financial reasons" financial situation.

It is like trying to cure depression with a breath mint. Plus, the usual "Company reports growth and record profits but certainly cannot afford to give raises to you, bottom feeders, keep making profits for us who sit at the top and be thankful you even get a chance to do so", sure sucks all the joy out of everything.

Somebody is trying to make a meme out of every line of dialog of some movie for some reason, in order, and post them one a day. Pretty much all of it is shitpost quality if you ask me.

Dude, those compilation disks were amazing, and some even came with DVDs of their music videos. I remember how cringy After Forever videos were, and how enchanting Floor's voice and interpretation always was. I still listen to VOA frequently, and those albums really helped shape my taste in music.

Well, someone like you won over a homophobic teenager with kindness and a good faith discussion almost three decades ago. And that teen, once he stopped hating for half a second, found out that he was gay himself, so thank you for engaging with those voices.

I won't tell you to keep doing it, since it is exhausting and I can't tell you what to do, but know that those efforts are hardly a complete waste.

Sadly, this goes both ways. What some defend as a right and as a way to keep moral decay and corruption of the soul, is their "right" to purge the "blight" that homosexuality is in their communities, by all means necessary. And that is exactly how my "adopted" (not official but on a house-mom kinda way) little brother ended up in my country, chased away by his own flesh and blood.

What to us looks like bigotry and prejudice, to them it looks like community and fight against oppression, what to us looks like a holocaust, to them means keeping their community, values and way of life safe and preserved.

We do need to engage with them, to either make them realize that their hatred is fucking vile, or to at least be able to reach our kin in the other side of the divide, show them that there is a way and their existence is not a curse, and that they CAN escape to our side.
