In America, people […] worship the flag. People in Spain don't. Unless they are fascists.

No, no. You have it right. It’s the same in both places.

No, those were the predecessors to penny-farthings. Closer to modern bikes in design but no suspension including solid tires made the ride very rough.

Interesting video on the topic

The most surprising thing is how small a penny-farthing can be, the pictures you see are usually of ginormous ones.

Yes! One of my favorite books as a kid!

Kinda had to, given it was expected to be watched mainly if not exclusively on black and white TV

I think you might have a different understanding of support than most. Nobody’s saying that the code to run this 30-year-old hardware should be enabled by default nor that distros should have them included by default.

That’s very different from whether the code is in the kernel in case someone wants to compile a custom kernel that does support it. Source code that’s disabled doesn’t add bloat to running systems.

Don’t worry I do and have been my whole adulthood.

I mean yeah trump is worse but the last good candidate the democrats had was Bernie, and that didn’t go well. I’ll vote blue no matter who but you gotta admit there’s been a dearth of good candidates.

Also democrats running shit candidates.

Yes. Microwave is short for “microwave oven”. I thought it was clear from context but I guess not.

It’s definitely not required for ovens. You can just open the oven. Source: previous oven (1950s vintage) didn’t have one.

Pretty useful though, and pretty important on microwaves too since you can’t safely open the [microwave] oven while it’s running.
