This isn’t specific to wefwef. There are plenty of other apps that do the same, i believe its tied to the actual lemmy api that keeps track of everything.
Ive never been a big fan of karma either, but just having post and comment totals doesn’t really bother me. As long as we as a community don’t glorify it. Even when i was on reddit i never cared about my karma.
Having said that, not everyone is of the same mind set and there will definitely be accounts trying to “farm” points. If one of them posts a lot that it annoys me i can just block them from my feed.
lemmy.ml have been turning their registration off and on in order to handle influxes of accounts and give themselves time to upgrade their servers to handle more people.
Having said that, you already have a lemmy.world account and can subscribe/comment/post/ upvote downvote any community in lemmy.ml with it.
You will like ios apps mlem and memmy. Theres a lot more but those are my favs so far.
Yea, the browser based experience is just not there yet, the devs are busy sorting out some bugs that didn’t show themselves until more users jumped on board.
I recommend finding a mobile app to use, there are a lot of them for both ios and android.
My personal favorite is memmy.
Seconding this, it feels the most similar to Apollo for ios to me right now as well. Definitely filling the void.
there are already several different app options for lemmy in different states of development;
jerboa, memmy, mlem, wefwef, thunder, and several others i cant think of off top. Definitely try them all out cus there are differences for sure. My personal favorite right now is memmy followed by wefwef thunder and mlem.

Gifs links to imgr seem to work just fine. If you check my posts you can see one. Posted through Memmy and it automatically uploaded the gif i made to imgr and worked flawlessly.
