Yeah, we're way better over here on lemmy. (The lack of racism really does make us better tho)

That guy in the middle is literally called: The Lord of the Rings. It's like his parents couldn't decide on what character they should name their son after. So they just said 'fuck it' and named him the actual title of the franchise.

Edit: I just noticed the comma. So this guy's first name is 'Lord of the Rings' and his surname is 'The'. "Oh please, Mr. The was my father. Call me Lord of the Rings."

Whoever it was, I think we've already taken it.

His grace was so kind as to liege me to some of his estates. I would happily repay his generosity with a rebellion and start my own kingdom. But when is the perfect time to strike? And once I start the rebellion what are some tips to secure a swift peace agreement?

I am trying to enter this castle for the main quest (Talk to 10 lords) but its lord has a real lance up his ass or something.

He has a prisoner in his castle which I need to speak to, except its policy not to let anyone in.

So I try to talk to the lord himself, to perhaps earn favor. But he's inside of this castle too!!

To me it feels like a matured Reddit. (At least most of the time 🙃)

When I play chess I always take one of two roads which both lead to defeat.

Either I play very carefully, leaving my opponent open to all of the attacking. With carefully I mean I only move important pieces to spots which are defended.

Or I play too recklessly which makes me lose important pieces to the stupidest of decisions. Seriously, I lost tons of queens to spots which were very clearly defended.

Either way I always lose. So:

Does anyone know of: tactics, videos, rule of thumbs, anything. Which can help to find a good balance?

Also: When should you start strategising about check-mating the king?

Edit: Thank you all for your input and suggestions! Linux Mint shall be my next OS! Though, I think I'll give Pop!OS a look-see as well.

Hi there,

I recently saw the movie: Black Swan. Good picture, good acting! One thing that stood out to me though was the fact that this movie is kinda dreary. I don't think I have ever seen the sun shine in that movie. Everybody seems to hate one another and there is just an overall really negative vibe going on.

It suited the movie perfectly. So I was wondering if anyone knows of any other movies where the setting is just depressing/dreary for no apparent reason*.

  • To which I mean there is no direct reason a character (or story) should be sad or depressed. I hope I am explaining this well 🙏 An example would be Saturday Night Fever.

Either by choice or sheer luck. What is something that has happened to you that made your life actively better?

(So far) For me it has been me finally able to move out of my parents home.

Hi,

I just did a test which had two multiple choice questions. Each question was worth one point. Getting them both right would result in getting a 100% score. Suffice it to say, getting just one question right would give you 50% and with that a passing grade.

So you have two multiple choice questions. Both of which are unrelated to the other. Each question has four possible answers. When you finish the test. You get to have one more try. The questions and possible answers remain the same.

Let's say you use both tries and you remember your previous two respected answers. What would your odds be, if you were to brute force guess your way through this test, to get a passing grade or a 100%?

Edit: Both questions only have one correct answer.

IMPORTANT EDIT: YOU DO NOT KNOW WHICH ANSWER YOU HAD RIGHT OR WRONG THE SECOND TIME AROUND. You only know how many questions you got right. But you don't know which. Sorry for the confusion!
