I have defaulted to an assertive method of straight up refusing to join any mainstream services!

If they want me to use it then they must provide the hardware which I can turn off outside operation hours.

I think that is a bit of a tall order don't you!?

I will agree with you it's not the one stop solution but I recommend it due to having triaged it on my own.

Yes they gave me the mandatory eye roll and sighs as to why I installed Linux but aren't bothered with updates, ads, malware, tracking and whatnot. They want to watch a movie or do some work it just works and doesn't bog them.

Also I emphasise that I can't recommend it for CAD/Graphic/Professional workflows that are tailored for windows sadly.

Hats off to a wingman like yourself.

A compilation of people using uBlock for the first time would be hilarious

To begin with you would need to configure the machine to the desktop disabling all what can be disabled.

Then I'd check something from here and remove only what can be deemed safe.

Having somewhat answered the main query if mom does not do anything that makes windows a necessity I'd highly suggest installing something like this and set yourself up for unattended remote control so you can assist if seen necessary.

In all honesty there was a period of time I thought all hope was lost but EU seems to be the last knight standing against these greedy mf.

We all have to bear in mind these lawmakers are fighting against enemies with near limitless resources so give credit where it is due and let's back them up as much as possible!

I've started to get annoyed at people asking why I cannot be found on this or that social platform! I have given up on explaining and simply tell them I took an irreversible decision to do so and leave them in the dark as to why

Using Ctrl+I seems the fastest route to allowing cookies to be set for one domain! (desktop tested)
